Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

    • Leading off, apparently Iron Maiden‘s had to shelve “Hallowed be thy Name” from their live set due to an ongoing lawsuit over the song’s lyrical content. Woof.

    • Fantomas has announced their first U.S. show in nine years. The band’s been added to that already-stacked Tool show in San Bernardino, CA, on June 24 — the one that will also feature Primus, the Melvins, Crystal Method and Clutch as openers. Good god.
    • Tribulation drummer Jakob Ljungberg has left the band amicably to pursue his own project, Second Sun. The band seems to be taking everything in stride though; they’ve promised to announce their new drummer in time for summer festival season.
    • Former AC/DC singer Brian Johnson joined Paul Rodgers and Robert Plant on stage in Oxford, England, more than a year after doctors told him to retire or risk total hearing loss. Bold move, Brian.
    • Amalie Bruun has announced that the next Myrkur album will be titled Mareridt. It’ll be out this fall on Relapse.
    • Speaking of new albums, Nile‘s working on one, too! The band shared some photos from their studio in South Carolina. No word on a title or track listing yet, but good on ’em for getting back to the grind so soon — feels like What Should Not Be Unearthed was only yesterday!
  • And finally, a new lyric video from Broken Hope — check out the title track from their upcoming album, Mutilated and Assimilated, below:

Mutilated and Assimilated drops June 23 on Century Media. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time tomorrow for our next edition!

Keep it heavy,
