Happy New Year, almost. Just think, 51 more of these and we’ll all be reading lists again. Oh wait, we’ve still got several so no worries. Will this year in metal eclipse the last one? Will this year be better than last year in terms of everything else? Is this the year that fire burns us all? So many questions with no answers, yet. Moving on, if you expected a slow week of releases you will not be disappointed but Germany’s Grin bring the haze, fuzz, and battle ready doom that the first week of a new year needs, and Spanish death metallers Unbounded Terror break the seal on their first new material in 28 years and based on how it sounds I’d say they’ve aged like a fine bottle of Pappy.
Go and support some of these bands and the bands you love. Enjoy a light week and catch up a bit, the road from here will get more adventurous as we careen deeper into 2020.
