Quickies: Nachtmystium resurrected, Wintersun dejected, and more

Almost through Week 1 of Flyin’ Solo – A Horns Up Joint! and so far, things have been going alright! Okay, so I’ve become a bit of a hermit and spent much of my non-work time working on blog and podcast stuff, but it’s all getting done! (And trust me, it needs to. I’m the guy who’ll be really gung ho about a blog for two weeks, then miss a single post and have it all go to hell. Not about to let that happen here.) Anyway, here are today’s Quickies–let’s take a look at what we missed in the metal world:

Wanna laugh really hard at something? Just picture all the kids who came to Pitchfork for Neutral Milk Hotel or St. Vincent stumbling across a random stage and hearing Deafheaven. And being really taken aback. And then trying so hard to pretend they get it because god forbid they ever seem out of the loop about anything. (Can you tell I think people suck? No? I’m not coming across properly, I guess.)

Anyway, that’ll wrap it up for today. Check back tomorrow for more!

The Dump: Episode 5

Here we go, people – the subsequent Dump to Episode 5. Discussion alone didn’t do these items justice. So, without further delay, here are all the links and visuals necessary to fully immerse yourselves in our ridiculous metal discussion. There are some really interesting (weird?) things in here. But, you’ll hafta listen to Episode 5 to get the full scoop. Check it.

Episode 5: May 10, 2014

Apologies for the delay on this one, folks, but at long last, it’s time for Episode 5 of Horns Up – your weekly catch-up on all things metal!

This week, co-host emeritus Kevin Davis joins Dan and Corey to weigh in on news from Inquisition, Nachtmystium and Mötley Crüe, before promptly disconnecting without warning! Because Kevin. After that, Dan and Corey check out new albums from Arkona, Epica and Noneuclid, revisit some classic albums from Amorphis and Strapping Young Lad, and ponder the alleged metallicness of Baltimore’s Future Islands.

All this and much, much more in this week’s episode — check it out! And don’t forget to like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter!
