CANTO: Metallica, Destruction, Lacuna Coil, and More

Whoa, Metallica gave us something new today…

  • But we’re kicking our week off with some German thrash. Destruction released a brand new music video for “Tormented Soul”, a track taken from Diabolical. That album dropped earlier this year through Napalm Records, and you can scoop it up here if you feel so inclined.
  • Lacuna Coil has announced a relatively brief run of shows on the West Coast with The Birthday Massacre, Blind Channel, and Edge of Paradise. Those dates are all in May, and tickets go on sale this coming Friday.
  • Satanic Warmaster has set December 30th as the international release date for Aamongandr, which will be out through Werewolf Records. Give “Bafomet” a listen here. Black metal… in all its glory.
  • Like I was saying, Metallica revealed a new track today titled “Lux Æterna”, the video of which is below. A new album, 72 Seasons, is slated for an April 14th release. I’m not sure if I was the only one completely caught off guard by this first track, but I definitely dig it. Fingers crossed for more good shit to come.

CANTO: All That Remains, Allegaeon, Municipal Waste, and More

Too many items in the inbox tonight… most of which I don’t care about.

  • Let’s lead off with All That Remains, something I don’t do often. We already knew about the 15th anniversary release of The Fall of Ideals, out on November 12th, but today we learned they will also be touring the album starting next March. Get your tickets right here.
  • Municipal Waste have signed on to a fresh deal with Nuclear Blast, having been with the label for a decade now. News like this usually comes with some kind of album update, and this is no exception with a new release planned for some time in 2022. We’ll stay tuned.
  • News from yesterday, but still worth sharing, Allegaeon have announced their next album. Damnum is set for a February 25th release through Metal Blade, and you can check out the new video for “Into Embers” right now. They’ve got a full slate of live dates in 2022, so be sure to catch them on the road as well.
  • New England sludge veterans Come To Grief have made their entire back catalog free (well, NYP) over on Bandcamp. Better still, they have a brief run of shows lined up in the Northeast this coming November and December if you happen to be in the area.
  • We’ll wrap up with the new video from Blind Channel for “Balboa”. You can also purchase the single here, out through Century Media, if you feel so inspired.

CANTO: Carcass, Cadaver, Blind Channel, and More

Fucking summer colds, yo. Let’s wrap this week up.

  • Damn, apparently Ghost Bath is still a thing. They’ve announced a new album, Self Loather, which will be released on October 29th through Nuclear Blast Records. Check out the visualizer for the first single, “Convince Me to Bleed”, and pre-order your copy here.
  • I’ve heard A LOT of good things about the new Carcass album, Torn Arteries, so we’ll link you to the new animated music video for “Dance of Ixtab (Psychopomp & Circumstance March No. 1)”. That album drops on September 17th, also through Nuclear Blast.
  • You know what? This is going to be a Nuclear Blast news roundup today, and that’s fucking fine. Equilibrium released a a new single titled “Revolution”, and kicked off pre-orders for a Sagas vinyl reissue. Fun fact: that was the last Equilibrium album I truly loved. Those will ship out November 19th.
  • South Dakota metalcore collective Earth Groans are releasing a new EP on September 3rd through Solid State Records titled The Body. Check out the new single, “Drink”, which you can stream right here.
  • Cadaver gave us a new music video today, for “Feed The Pigs”, which features Kam Lee of Massacre (awesome). That track, of course, is taken from Edder & Bile, which dropped last year through… Nuclear Blast.
  • We’ll close with a new single and music video from Blind Channel for “Balboa”. That track is also available to stream and purchase here, through Century Media.
