CANTO: The Devil’s Trade, Burning Witches, Sanguisugabogg, and More

Canto after dark: still a thing sometimes! Gonna keep it quick though.

Leading off, we have Burning Witches. They released the third single, “World On Fire”, from their upcoming new album. Their fifth studio album, The Dark Tower, is out this Friday through Napalm Records.
And an upcoming North American tour! Sanguisugabogg dates with Kruelty, Vomit Forth, and more. Those dates are in July and August, and tickets go on sale this Friday.
Chthonic is a callback to my formative metal years, so let’s see what they’re up to. Here’s a new video of them performing “Pattonkan” at Megaport Festival in Takao City, Taiwan.
The Devil’s Trade is a thing that I like, so let’s end on that note. A new album, Vidékek vannak idebenn, is slated for a July 14 release through Season of Mist. Check out the video for the brand new track, “Flashing Through the Lack of Light” directly below.

Today was a little more tame, which is all I can ask for.

King Woman has set July 30th as the release date for the highly anticipated sophomore album, Celestial Blues. That will be out through Relapse Records, and is available for pre-order here. Check out the clip for “Morning Star” while you’re at it.
Red Fang have announced a U.S. tour, scheduled for this coming October and November. Support will be provided by Starcrawler, Here Lies Man, and Warish. I will definitely be attending this one, because Red Fang is awesome… and even more awesome live. And a reminder, Arrows is out this Friday, also through Relapse.
Atreyu has also announced a fairly massive U.S. tour this coming November and December. They’ll be supported by Tetrarch, Crown The Empire, Saul, and Defying Decay. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, but there’s always a pre-sale code for those that want it.
We have a couple videos worth sharing today (subjective), and we’ll start with Vreid. They dropped the clip for “Dazed and Reduced”, which is taken from the recently released Wild North West, out through Season of Mist.

No shortage of items to cover today. A curious amount of new videos for a non-Friday… which we’ll mostly skip.

Anyway, we’ll start with Barishi, who have announced a virtual concert via Gimme TV. It’s a replay of their performance at the Stone Church in Brattleboro, VT, and it will air tomorrow at 7:00 EDT. Download the app to tune in for free and all that good stuff.
The next free concert stream features Burning Witches. That event takes place on the release day of their new album, The Witch Of The North, May 28th. Pre-order the record here, which is out through Nuclear Blast, and stream the event at this location.
You know what? Screw it. One more concert stream I want to share. I’ve been listening to their split EP all day, so we may as well share links to the Psychonaut and Sâver performances for Roadburn Redux. That was a great take on a virtual festival, and we should all be thrilled some of the footage is out there for us to ingest still.
And then we’ll close with a couple videos, the first coming from Dread Sovereign, who have also dropped some new merch at their Bandcamp site! But most importantly, here’s a link to the video for “Her Master’s Voice”, taken from Alchemical Warfare, which is out now through Metal Blade.
