Starting with Spirit Adrift is always a sound decision. They’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power with a cover of “Hollow”. Check out the visualizer here.
Ithaca is popular around these parts, so let’s check out their new stuff. The video for “They Fear Us” is available here, the title-track from their new album. That’s out on July 29th through Hassle Records.
Thy Art Is Murder have announced a co-headlining tour with After The Burial, with North American dates running from May 10th through June 18th. Tickets went on sale today, which means this news is probably a couple days old. Oops.
So, I hadn’t listened to Allegaeon in a minute, but I have to say that I am very impressed with Damnum. As such, here’s their new video for “Vermin”, taken from that album, which is out now on Metal Blade.
Adding a little blackened/industrial doom to the pile, we have the new clip from Culted for “Dirt Black Chalice”. That’s taken from their 2019 mini album, Vespertina Synaxis – A Prayer For Union and Emptiness.
And, of course, we’re closing the week with the new (and very impressive) video from Meshuggah for “The Abysmal Eye”. Immutable is out on April 1st through Atomic Fire.

We got tours!

We’ll start with Gojira, since they are fresh off the release of Fortitude and all. They’ve got a handful of headlining dates here in the United States this coming September and October, which does include a couple festival appearances. Tickets go on sale Friday, and you know I’ll be ready to jump on that.
Dawn Ray’d have announced a two-track EP, Wild Fire, set for a May 7th release with Prosthetic Records. It features two versions of the same track, and “Wild Fire I” is streaming over at Decibel.
And the second tour I wanted to highlight today is headlined by Beartooth. Those are August and September dates, with support from Wage War and Dragged Under. Tickets go on sale Friday as well. And while you’re at it, you may as well pre-order Below, which is out June 25th via Red Bull Records.
Couple noteworthy items out of Season of Mist to start the week with. First, they announced that the horror metal act Opera Diabolicus have been added to their roster. Their sophomore album, Death on a Pale Horse, will be out later this year at some point.
And then we have a new video from Culted for “Crush My Soul”, which we will round things out with. That Godflesh cover is taken from Nous, which dropped back in February. Pick it up here if you hadn’t already done so.

It’s not like there wasn’t any news yesterday, it was more that I didn’t feel like sharing it.

Let’s start with Cannibal Corpse, because updates from them are always fun. Violence Unimagined, their 15th studio album, drops on April 16th through Metal Blade Records. A new single taken from that record, “Inhumane Harvest”, is available for your listening pleasure now.
My favorite news for today, however, comes from I, Voidhanger Records, who announced the release date for the next Mare Cognitum album. Solar Paroxysm drops on March 19th, so snag your pre-order here. Check out a new track over at Invisible Oranges, as well.
Polish stoner doom act Dopelord is dropping a new EP on February 19th titled Reality Dagger. That will be released through Green Plague Records. I tried to find a pre-order link for everyone, but then laziness set in and I moved on.
We’ll wrap up with new music video from Culted for “Maze”, which you can check out below. That’s another sample from Nous, which is out on February 26th through Season of Mist. Here’s that crucial pre-order link, that I did manage to find, as well.

Oh look, America broke. Who could have EVER seen this coming?? Anyway. 2/26 seems to be a popular date in today’s announcements…

Summoning The Lich just signed on to a deal with Prosthetic Records back in October, and today have announced details surrounding their debut album. The fantasy-themed death metal crew out of St. Louis will release United In Chaos on February 26th. Check out that clip for “The Nightmare Begins” while you’re at it.
Iotunn, the progressive metal band out of Denmark, have unveiled new album details. Access All Worlds will also be out on February 26th, through Metal Blade Records. Today, they released a new single for “Voyage of the Garganey I”, which can be heard at that link as well.
We’re still paying tribute to Alexi Laiho at Nine Circles, so let’s pause here and take a few minutes to watch this cover of “Downfall”. That clip includes members of Immortal Guardian, Helion Prime, and Oceans Of Slumber.

Soilwork has a new EP dropping on Friday, titled A Whisp Of The Atlantic, through Nuclear Blast. Today, they released a drum playthrough for “The Nothingness And The Devil”, taken from that EP… obviously.
Culted have unveiled new album details today. Nous will be out on February 26th through Season of Mist. Pre-order it here, and check out the new single, “Lifers”, now.
Terror dropped a surprise release today. Sink to The Hell is a rare tracks EP that is available now through WAR Records.
