CANTO: Judicator, Currents, Avatar, and More

I took the day off. So here I am sitting on my couch watching the World Cup.

  • We’ll open with some metalcore. Currents unveiled a new track today, titled “Vengeance”. Give it a listen here. It also sounds like they have a big 2023 lined up, which includes an early tour with Parkway Drive and Memphis May Fire. Here are those dates, if you’re interested.
  • Next, we’ll pivot to some gothic rock. Die Oberherren revealed a new single and video, titled “The Blood or the Wine”. Their debut album, Die By My Hand, is set for a January 27 release through Svart Records.
  • Avatar shared details surrounding Dance Devil Dance, their new album which drops on February 17 through Black Waltz Records. Pre-orders are available here, where you can find the track listing and all that other stuff. Obviously.
  • The Majesty of Decay was officially released to the world today through Prosthetic Records, so it makes sense to end the week with the new music video from Judicator for the title-track from that new album. Give it a watch below, and I’ll catch ya next week.

CANTO: Visions of Atlantis, Abyssic, Cassius King, and More

Two down, three to go. And the week gets really interesting starting tomorrow.

  • We’ll start Tuesday with a tour. Visions of Atlantis are covering a decent chunk of North America early in 2023, in support of their new album Pirates. Get all the dates and ticket links here. And in case you missed it, that album is out on Napalm Records.
  • Actually, you know what? Here’s another tour. Parkway Drive have some headlining dates in the U.S. early next year, with support from Memphis May Fire and Currents. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday at this location.
  • Extreme doom metal crew Abyssic are releasing Brought Forth in Iniquity this coming Friday through Osmose Productions, but if you can’t quite wait that long you can stream the album in full over at the 666MrDoom YouTube channel.
  • And then we’ll move on to Satanic Tea Co. Why? Because the concept amuses me. The second single, titled “Human Tea”, which features Cryptopsy’s Matt McGachy, is streaming over at Decibel.
  • Finally, some stoner doom to round things out. Cassius King offered up a video for “Abandon Paradise”, a track taken from Dread The Dawn. Give it a watch below. That album dropped last Friday through MDD Records.

CANTO: Suicide Silence, Constellatia, Bones, and More

An early afternoon draft because life is still upside down.

  • I guess we can start by checking out the new Queensrÿche. Give “Behind The Walls” a listen and watch here, a track taken from the upcoming new album Digital Noise Alliance. That one drops on October 7th through Century Media.
  • I suppose we can mix things up with some metalcore today. Check out the latest from Currents, titled “The Death We Seek”. That’s available through SharpTone Records.
  • This is something I wasn’t previously familiar with. South African progressive black metallers Constellatia are releasing their sophomore full-length on November 11th through Season of Mist, titled Magisterial Romance. With that announcement, the first single, “Adorn”, is available now.
  • Chicago extreme metal outfit Bones are releasing their fourth album, Vomit, on October 28th through Disorder Recordings. Here’s a preview clip. The release show they’re hosting on the 29th at Reggie’s looks like a ton of fun as well.
  • Suicide Silence premiered a new track today, titled “You Must Die”. That single is available for purchase here, and you can watch the music video for it below.

CANTO: Knotfest, Full of Hell, Currents, and More

Full_of_Hell_portrait-2

I hope gluttony treated everyone well last week.

  • Let’s begin with a tour. Those are always fun and easy. Exist have announced that they will be joining Monotheist and Replacire for a brief tour this coming February. Mostly east coast dates, which is good news for me.
  • In a huge development from this past weekend, Knotfest Mexico didn’t go so well. Slipknot had to cancel their headlining appearance because fans had broken the barricade directly in front of the stage. In response? Said fans lit stuff on fire. Yay! (And by yay I mean boooo.)
  • Bummer news. Full of Hell had their van stolen. And with it tons of gear and clothing, obviously. The good news is that they received a ton of support, financial and otherwise. Hopefully 2020 brings these guys good things, because they rule.
  • Currents dropped a new music video for “Poverty of Self” a couple days ago. Their second studio album will be out sometime next spring, but you can catch them on a few more European dates through the 7th. Anyway, enjoy the vid.
