CANTO: Doro, Rammstein, Extrema, and More

rammstein band 2017

I didn’t work today but it’s too cold to go outside so I guess I’m typing words into the internet. Like always.

  • Doro Pesch has announced her first U.S. tour dates of 2020. There are only a small handful of dates in April and May, but plenty of ground covered. No idea who will be in support yet.
  • I have been diligently following Rammstein tour updates, and today I’m happy to report that we know what cities they will be visiting. Also, these are gonna be stadium shows, which is exciting.
  • Hallucinator are preparing for the release of their debut, Another Cruel Dimension, on February 14th. That will be out on Carbonized Records. They have a couple west coast tour dates in the very near future, and you can check out a new song right now called “Pervader”.
  • Today’s video comes from Extrema. The Italian groove/thrash metal group dropped a new clip for “The Call”, which was taken from 2019’s Headbanging Forever.

The same was true as the release date of Jomsviking began approaching. I figured I would inevitably listen to at some point, but I wasn’t exactly counting the hours until it dropped. Well, that ‘at some point’ turned out to be this past week and I am thrilled to report that this is the most impressive work Amon Amarth has put forward in some time. And I find myself once again on Amon Amarth’s longship, ready for battle. Continue reading
