CANTO: Cattle Decapitation, Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, and More

Go to a wedding, come back sick, get better, go to another wedding, come back sick, get better…

  • Cattle Decapitation have announced the “Death… At Last” tour with The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Extinction A.D., and Creeping Death. Those are U.S. dates beginning January 18th and running through February 20th. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday at this location.
  • And then we’ll jump over to Pelagic Records, where Som has announced the upcoming release of The Shape Of Everything. That drops on January 21st, and is available for preorder here. Check out the first track, “Animals”, right now at the previous link.
  • Cynic shared a preview of an upcoming new track, titled “Diamond Light Body”, through Season of Mist. That one is taken from Ascension Codes, which is out on November 26th and can be purchased here.
  • This came through yesterday but whatever. Dark Tranquillity are making their return to North America early next year with Kataklysm and Nailed To Obscurity. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday. They’ll be supporting Moment, a very good album… in case you needed a reminder.
  • We’re closing with the first single from The Halo Effect, and it’s titled “Shadowminds”. And I’m not gonna lie, I am really, really happy about it. That project recently inked a deal with Nuclear Blast, but album details haven’t quite emerged yet. We’ll keep you posted.

First Canto of 2019! Hope you all enjoyed the holiday season! Just kidding. No I don’t.

  • Oh, Batushka. I remember that thing. Sorta. Anyway, looks like there was some kind of a lineup split and… it didn’t go well.
  • Iggy Azalea wore a Cradle of Filth shirt in an Instagram post. Why is this news? Because she wore THAT Cradle of Filth shirt. CoF was entertained, as am I.
  • Manowar have announced a new guitarist for obvious reasons. Whatever. Some people probably care. I 100% do not.
  • Nailed To Obscurity have released a new music video for “Tears Of The Eyeless”. It’s quite good. Their new album, Black Frost, will be out on January 11th.
