CANTO: Wolfheart, Saint Asonia, Dryad, and More

One more day, and then this move into the mountains goes into full force.

  • Hard rock crew Saint Asonia have announced a new EP, titled Extrovert. That six-track collection will be out on November 18 through Spinefarm, and follows their Introvert EP from earlier this year. Give “Wolf” a listen here.
  • Out of Prosthetic Records, black metal project Dryad have announced a new album, titled The Abyssal Plain. That is set for a January 20 release, and a video for the lead single “Black Smoke” is available over at Decibel.
  • Out of the Season of Mist camp, Obsidious premiered a performance video of a new track titled “I Am”, with footage from Euroblast 2022. That’s taken from the progressive metallers upcoming debut album, Iconic, which drops tomorrow.
  • Closing out, we have the new video from melodic death metal outfit Wolfheart. Give “Knell” a watch and listen below, a track taken from King of the North. That album is out now through Napalm Records.

CANTO: Syberia, Besvärjelsen, Nekrogoblikon, and More

Knocking this out early because I have places to be tonight. My bad if I miss anything that came through at the end of the day.

CANTO: Obsidious, Yautja, Inhuman Condition, and More

It appears I will be making my return to California this year. Twice.

  • Entheos has signed a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records, which is awesome for them. It doesn’t look like we’re getting the debut release through that label until sometime next year, but for now check out this new teaser video.
  • In advance of the release of The Lurch this coming Friday, Yautja shared a new video for “The Weight”. Give it a watch at this location, and be sure to scoop up their new album at the end of the week, which is out through Relapse Records.
  • Inhuman Condition dropped a new (age-restricted) video for “Killing Pace”, which I suggest you take a few minutes to watch here. In case you weren’t aware (side note: I wasn’t) Rat°God is out on June 4th through Listenable Insanity Records.
  • Obsidious have signed on with Season of Mist, one of my personal favorite labels, with ambitions of releasing their debut with them sometime early next year. Better yet, however, they also released a new track titled “Iconic”, which you can check out directly below.

CANTO: Obscura, Katatonia, Barishi, and More

Katatonia

Earth Day… and I’ve been reluctant to go outside all day because work is murdering me. Go figure.

  • Obscura drama is coming right back around again. Steffen Kummerer is flying solo for the time being, as the other 75% of the band bailed to go in a different direction and form a new project called Obsidious. Fun times.
  • Katatonia dropped another track from their upcoming new album, City Burials, which is out on Friday. This one is called “The Winter of our Passing” and I assure you, it is a really good time.
  • Barishi have announced a Facebook Live listening party for their new albumOld Smoke, tomorrow at 5:00 PM EDT. The album itself officially drops on Friday through Season of Mist.
  • 3D music videos are always a good time, so here’s a new one from Abysmal Dawn for “Coerced Evolution”. That track is taken from the recently released Phylogenesis, available through Season of Mist as well.
