There is a correlation between the temperature outside, and my stress level inside.
Let’s start with a tour that I am pretty stoked for. The Black Dahlia Murder are touring North America with After The Burial, Carnifex, Rivers of Nihil, and Undeath this coming September and October. There are some pre-sale links out there as well, so go do that thing.
There’s another tour announcement out there today that’s striking all the sentimental feels. P.O.D., yes P.O.D., has announced a headlining tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of Satellite. And now I feel old. Anyway, those dates start in August, and tickets are available here.
More metal and booze collaborations! This time, it’s Pessimist teaming up with Brimming Horn Meadery to create their own “Blood for the Gods” mead. It’ll be made with plum and aronia berries that have been aged in oak barrels. Sounds pretty fucking delicious to me.
We’re going to wrap the day up with the new video from Amenra because, well, it’s expectedly incredible. This clip is for “Voor Immer”, the latest from De Doorn. That album is set for a June 25th release through Relapse Records, and can be purchased here. Additionally, there’s going to be a livestream event celebrating the album’s release on June 27th, and you can scoop up a ticket here. All kinds of good stuff.
I feel moderately accomplished today. That doesn’t suck.
Musk Ox, a project I haven’t mentioned in what seems like forever, will be releasing their third full-length album on July 9th. Inheritance will be an independent release, and pre-order details are coming soon. For what it’s worth, I’m really excited about this.
Horndal are celebrating the release of their sophomore album, Lake Drinker, with a live streamed event via Bandcamp. It’s scheduled for April 18th, and tickets are only $3.00, with all proceeds going to the town’s local non-profit to look after an old factory park.
Pessimist have announced new vinyl pressings of their first three albums, Cult of the Initiated, Blood for the Gods, and Slaughtering the Faithful, available through Season of Mist. Those release dates are May 14th, June 11th, and July 16th, respectively. Check out this trailer for the reissues, and get your pre-order fix here.
The May 7th release date for X, the latest album from thrash metallers Artillery, is growing closer. So we’ll wrap up the day with their new single and video for “Turn Up the Rage”. That one is out through Metal Blade Records, and can be pre-ordered here.
Live shows are always a wonderful experience for me. There is no better way to support the scene, bands, and people you care about all while having a good time. So when it happened that a few bands I loved were playing at my favorite venue with a great dude vending some his distro at the show, it was a no-brainer that I had to be there, and as expected, it was a phenomenal time.
