Three straight weeks from Hell begins… NOW.

In case you weren’t aware, some stuff was stolen from the Musonia School of Music that was once owned by the legendary Randy Rhoads back on Thanksgiving night. Well, a couple weeks later, some of the items have surfaced… in a dumpster.
Necronomicon dropped a new music video for “The Thousand Masks”. It’s NSFW for anyone still at W at this point in the day. Reminder that Unus dropped back in October via Season of Mist.
The Well have announced a run of shows in both Europe and North America. The dates run late January through early March. Support is in the form of R.I.P. on some dates, and Zig-Zags on others.
It’s a slow day, so let’s close with some prog metal. This is Chiasmata with the track “Absolution”. I am of the understanding that there will be a new album out in the near future.

Quickies: News from Windhand, a 30th Anniversary Tour for Sepultura, and a Cool Release from Metallica for Record Store Day

Two more days until I’m off to Detroit. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…. I’m probably one of a very select excited about that concept. Because hockey!

Windhand is back in the studio. Those were the fun guys from MDF last year that were rather captivating. This is neat.
This is actually kind of cool. Metallica will be re-releasing No Life ’til Leather on cassette for Record Store Day this year. This is a souvenir I actually might pick up. Even if I can’t play it. At all.
Sludge doom metallers Indian have called it quits. They wrote some decent stuff over the years. Equally as interesting, some of the shit that pops up when you type “Indian band” into Google. Shit got weird.
Sepultura have announced a 30th anniversary tour. Who exactly is in Sepultura these days? My memory fails me. So does my effort in giving a reasonable enough amount of fucks.

Quickies: Potentially good news from Wintersun and Tool? More importantly, ‘St. Anger’ got a face-lift.

I have nothing interesting to say. It’s a Tuesday. Who honestly gives a shit about Tuesday?

We all remember how terrible St. Anger was. Even if we wish we didn’t. Unfortunately, I’m gonna bring it up today. But there’s hope! Some guys from these bands called Adust and Grace the Skies re-recorded the album… and it sounds better! Not that that’s saying much, I suppose.
Some of you may already know this, but a Randy Rhoads tribute album is going to drop on March 3rd. What’s news worthy here is the friggin’ musicians on this thing. Serj Tankian, Alexi Laiho, and Frankie Banali to name a few. It’s gonna get weird.
Some super vague album announcements: Tool give us next to nothing and Wintersun give us a caption-less image. Are we to assume this is something off of Time II? There seems to be cause for optimism on both fronts. But I’m keep my skepticism well intact for now.
Sludge fans out there: Torche announced a tour this spring with Nothing. The tour begins March 6th and will run through the majority of the month. East coast shows at the tail end.
I’m sure you saw the review of Sylosis’ Dormant Heart here on the blog today. To follow up on that post, here is some studio footage of the band playing “To Build A Tomb”:
