Dark Tranquillity

Week two, reporting from the abyss.

Founding guitarist Niklas Sundin is stepping away from Dark Tranquillity. You can read his full post here, but it basically sounds like he wants to trade touring duties for family time, which I understand. It does sound like he will stay involved from a creative standpoint, which is pretty cool.
Snow Burial are planning a live stream to benefit The Greater Chicago Food Depository. The event will take place on March 26th at 8:00pm EST over at the Prosthetic Records Youtube Channel. Cool event, cool cause, we all win.
Like everyone else, Sebastian Bach has rescheduled the 2nd leg of his 30th anniversary tour for the album Skid Row. Those new dates have already be set, and they fall from late October through December.
Finally, we’ll close with the tasty new track from Barishi titled “The Silent Circle”. Their upcoming new album, Old Smoke, drops on April 24th through Season of Mist. Enjoy.

Monte Pittman has announced a run of US shows with Sebastian Bach. So if you’re into that… go to that?
Cannibal Corpse… also making moves! November (and some December dates) with Hate Eternal and Harms Way. Large.
In my desperation to find news that isn’t a tour, here’s Corey Taylor being one of my favorite humans ever.

Suicide Silence is working on a new album. And they are turning to producer Ross Robinson for help.
Sebastian Bach is planning ‘An Evening With…” tour for 2016. Normally, I enjoy shows like this. With him, it’s probably pretentious as hell.
Master of Puppets turned 30 today. To celebrate, here some covers of those very songs. Don’t worry, we’ll be covering this in more details eventually.
This one is for Kevin! Kittie is going to be releasing a career documentary and today they released a number of key details. Like the title.
Apparently Walls of Jericho is still a thing. Here’s a new song/video for something called “Fight The Good Fight.”

CANTO: Sebastian Bach’s a doofus, tour announcements galore, and more!

I love moments when Sebastian Bach makes a moron of himself. Which is, to say, most times. Luckily, we get one of those moments to lead off tonight’s Canto. So why don’t we do just that?

So hey! Here’s that Sebastian Bach moment I mentioned earlier. Apparently dude’s realized he doesn’t have a lot of friends and is now selling tickets to attend his wedding. For $300. I can’t wait ’til exactly zero people show up to this thing.
KEN Mode announced a whole buttload of fall tour dates to support their new album, Success. How much of a buttload? Try two months and more than 50 shows. That Acheron gig in Brooklyn could be fun.
Speaking of tour dates: Kataklysm and Belphegor are hitting the road together this fall.
Some interesting stuff here: a handful of guys from Cryptopsy and Neuraxis have teamed up to form a new project called Akurion. And hey, it’s apparently going to be “ball-crushingly heavy,” guys!
