Now that we’re officially in the back half of 2020, the past six months has brought a wealth of outstanding metal spanning all genres. As for me, death metal is in the lead. What about this back half? Will the metal of death stay at the top? Who knows. But, I do know there’s no signs of the quality waning or quantity slowing down so that’s a good thing. Welcome, one and all, to the first full week of the back half and tons more new releases. Cases in point; a full length debut that’s an extreme display of punk, thrash, and death metal aggression from Texas based Skeleton, another entry into ‘negative wizard metal’ from Rebel Wizard (you figure that one out or ask our very own Charles who got me into it), and an outstanding third full length from Lantern that proves, yet again, that Finnish death metal is SO ON POINT.
