CANTO: Kataan, White Void, Solbrud, and More

Some seriously cool shit to share this Friday. Not a bad way to start a weekend.

  • Kataan, the newest project featuring Nicholas Thornbury (Vattnet Viskar) and Brett Boland (Astronoid), have signed on with Prosthetic Records, and have announced a self-titled debut EP set for a May 7th release. Check out the first single, “Processor”, right now. It’s fucking unreal and I couldn’t be more excited about this project.
  • Decibel Magazine has announced a 200th issue livestream show, scheduled for April 30th. It’s a massive lineup featuring the likes of Khemmis, Wake, Horrendous, and more. The event is presented by Metal Blade, and you can get the full scoop here.
  • And a couple videos today, being a Friday and all. The first coming from Solbrud. This is the new clip for “Sjæleskrig”, taken from the audio/visual live album, Levende I Brønshøj Vandtårn. That is set for an international release on March 26th through Eisenwald.
  • We’ll close with the new video from White Void for “There Is No Freedom But The End”, taken from their debut album, Anti, which is out now through Nuclear Blast.

CANTO: Tombs, The Crown, Solbrud, and More

I think I’ve already given up working for the week.

  • Tombs has announced a live stream event, scheduled for February 5th at 3:00 PM EST. Furthermore, it will be premiered through Bandcamp, the first such event to use the platform. You’ll be able to get tickets, merch, and all that fun stuff here… eventually.
  • The Crown are returning in 2021 with a new album. Set for a March 12th release, Royal Destroyer will be available through Metal Blade Records. Pre-orders are available here, as well as the new single “Motordeath”.
  • The Sword have also returned with a new track, kind of. It’s a live performance of “The Warp Riders”, taking from the 2010 album, Warp Riders. It was recorded as part of their Conquest of Quarantine lockdown sessions. Give it a watch right here.
  • Solbrud are releasing an audio/visual live album on Marth 26th through Eisenwald, titled Levende I Brønshøj Vandtårn. If you want to end your day with some pretty wild black metal, check out this clip for “Øde Lagt” below.
