Another late running World Cup match, a beer, and no more work for the week. Yay.

CANTO: Naut, Blindead 23, Mourn The Light, and More

Happy American Thanksgiving eve… still a holiday I’m apathetic towards!

  • Leather is releasing a new studio album this coming Friday, titled We Are the Chosen. That will be available through Steamhammer/SPV, and a video for the title-track emerged today, which you can view here.
  • Blindead 23, a new project forming from the remnants of Blindead, featuring current and former members of Behemoth, Vader, Katatonia, and more, revealed a new track titled “Towards The Dark”. That’s streaming over at Metal Injection, so go check it out.
  • New England-based heavy doom crew Mourn The Light are releasing a new EP titled Stare Into the Face of Death this coming Friday through Argonauta Records. So it’s coming at us fast, which rules. Give “The Hunt” a listen here, the first track from that collection.
  • Sure, we can slide some post punk into the mix today. Naut is releasing a brand new album on February 24 titled Hunt, their debut with Season of Mist. Check out the first single, “Unity of Opposites”, immediately below.

Deveneror

Turkey week, folks. Do it up. New stuff this week brings us some dissonant black metal from Deveneror, blackened death metal from Azarath that favors speed and brutality, an excellent thrash return from Sodom, and an outstanding live album from Morne. Beyond that, the list is yet again very long so there’s certainly something here for everyone. If you’re reading this and in a band with an upcoming release you want featured here, send us an email with the details. And, if you’re wondering why X band is not featured here, tell us in the comments what we missed and why it should’ve been here. You never know, your favorite might become ours as well. Sharing is caring. Or, something like that.

Another Friday is upon us, and that means another slew of albums for y’all to digest. Leading the way is Salt Lake City’s SubRosa, who return with their fourth full-length, For This We Fought the Battle of Ages. (I just got my copy through #MetalBandcampGiftClub yesterday and am beyond psyched to dive in.)

We’ve also got a new album from Inquisition that contains a lot of words in its title (even more than SubRosa), as well as stuff from German legends Running Wild, other German legends Sodom and German not-quite-legends-but-still-pretty-damn-goods Imperium Dekadenz. (It’s a big week to be either verbose or German, what can we say?) We’ve got all that and more listed out below, so click that “Read More” link and get to it. Here’s what’s on tap for this week:
