CANTO: Seven Kingdoms, Lybica, Strigoi, and More

Drafting this super early in the afternoon, so here’s hoping I don’t miss anything good!

  • Leading off, we have new stuff from Lybica, the new project featuring Killswitch Engage’s Justin Foley on guitar. Check out the visualizer for “Oktavist” here. Their self-titled debut drops on September 16th through Metal Blade. Cat!
  • On the darker side of things this Thursday, we have a new one from Strigoi. The blackened doom outfit are releasing Viscera on September 30th through Season of Mist, and today they unveiled “King Of All Terror”.
  • Atmospheric doom pop outfit SOM have some (lol) November dates coming up here in the U.S. (but not near me sadly). They’ll be joined by Holy Fawn and Grivo. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. You know what to do.
  • Need a little energy boost at the end of your day? Try out the latest from power metal crew Seven Kingdoms. The new video for “Chasing the Mirage” is right below, a track taken from Zenith. That’s out now through Distortion Music Group.

CANTO: Satan, Archspire, Strigoi, and More

Archspire 2021

This week is absolutely destroying me. Also, tours are getting canceled again. That sucks.

  • Archspire have optimistically announced a new tour through North America with Entheos, Inferi, and Vulvodynia. That kicks off on April 13th, and tickets can be found here.
  • Couple of Season of Mist happenings to mention tonight. Strigoi have signed on with the label, and are preparing a new album for 2022. It will be titled Viscera, and you know we’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.
  • Nekromant released a new video for “The Woods”, a track taken from Temple Of Haal, an album I had a good time with a few weeks ago. Haven’t heard it yet? It’s out now through Despotz Records and you can check it out here.
  • This is interesting. Amaranthe unveiled a music video for “PvP”, a track used for E-Sports Championships. Give it a watch.
  • Closing with a new video from Satan feels… appropriate. Check out the clip for “Into the Mouth of Eternity” below. That one is taken from 2018’s Cruel Magic, which is available here.
