CANTO: Spirit Adrift, Cabal, Primal Fear, and More

The Friday before what is going to be an insanely busy week coming up.

  • Leading off, Cabal have announced a new album through Nuclear Blast. Magno Interitus will be out on October 21st, and of course that update comes with some new tunes. Check out “Exsanguination” here.
  • Primal Fear are celebrating their 25 years as a band with a deluxe edition of their self-titled debut, which will be out on July 15th through Atomic Fire. Check out the lyric video for “Running In The Dust” right here.
  • Prosthetic Records have added Slugcrust to their roster, who will be releasing their debut album, titled Ecocide, on September 9th. The lead single from that album, “Echoless”, is available now.
  • New stuff from Vomit Forth emerged today, and that’s awesome. Here’s the clip for “Carnivorous Incantation”. Seething Malevolence is out on July 8th through Century Media. But you should have already known that.
  • It’s no mystery that we’re Spirit Adrift fans around here, so closing with their new track is an easy choice. Check out “Mass Formation Psychosis”, taken from the upcoming 20 Centuries Gone. That collection is out on August 19th and will feature two new tracks alongside six covers.

CANTO: King Parrot, Hierophant, Vomit Forth, and More

I almost skipped this today, but I couldn’t ignore all the fun stuff happening out there.

  • To start, we have new material from WAKE. Check our their new single, titled “Infinite Inward”. Their sixth full-length album will be out on July 22nd through Metal Blade, titled Thought Form Descent, and we are all very excited about it.
  • From there, we’ve got updates from King Parrot. The Australian grind crew are releasing their debut EP from 2011, titled The Stench Of Hardcore Pub Trash, on vinyl for the first time through Housecore Records and Dead Set Records. That will be out on June 30th.
  • Reunited thrash collective Mantic Ritual have returned with the new music video for “Crusader”, their first new material since 2009. They’ve also got a new EP coming on September 2nd, so we’ll keep an eye out for that.
  • Italian death metallers Hierophant are releasing a new full-length, Death Siege, on August 26th through Season of Mist. Check out the video for the title-track here.
  • To wrap up the day, we’ll opt for the new stuff from Vomit Forth. Below is the new video for “Predatory Savior”. Seething Malevolence is out on July 8th through Century Media.

CANTO: Sepultura, Sanguisugabogg, Frozen Soul, and More

It’s raining again today. And yes, I am just fine with that.

  • Sepultura have announced the rescheduled dates for the Quadra tour (finally). The new dates are scheduled for March 4th through April 9th, with support in the form of Sacred Reich, Crowbar, and Art of Shock. Legit, this tour should be a ton of fun. Get your tickets here.
  • Let’s toss in another tour, yeah? This one features Frozen Soul and Sanguisugabogg, as well as Inoculation and Vomit Forth. Those dates are a little sooner, spanning October 27th through December 12th. Personally, I’m going to prioritize this one a bit more. Tickets go on sale Friday at this location.
  • Let’s drop in some fresh death metal. Outre-Tombe are releasing their third album, Abysse Mortifère, on October 26th through Temple of Misery. Furthermore, you can check out a new track, “Tombeau de Glace”, over at the label’s Bandcamp page, which is awesome.
  • Swedish progressive metal sounds fun, so we’ll close with the new video from Loch Vostok for “Enter the Resistance”. That track is taken from Opus Ferox – The Great Escape, which is officially out today apparently.

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 102 (10.26.2019)

playlist - mixtape

Welcome to a special s p o o k y Saturday edition of the Nine Circles Playlist.  To celebrate the fact that Halloween is right around the corner, we decided to include not only the songs we’ve been jamming this week, but also some of the staff’s favorite horror movie clips.  If you’ve ever wanted to get even further into the minds of the people who write for this site, that you’ve come to know and love (hopefully), then today’s your lucky day.  Or who knows, maybe you just want something that’ll scare you senseless first thing in the morning.  It be like that sometimes.

Thrills, chills, and a whole lot of riffs await you below.
