CANTO: Jungle Rot, Besv√§rjelsen, Witherfall, and More

And we’re back!

  • Swedish rock collective Besv√§rjelsen released a new single from their upcoming new album, this one titled “The Cardinal Ride”. That new album, Atlas, is out on May 27th through Magnetic Eye Records. This one is on my list for sure.
  • Witherfall have teamed up with Adroit Theory Brewing Company to release the Shadows Black IPA… which conveniently happens to be my favorite style of beer. There’s also a limited edition shirt! Anyway, get the full scoop here.
  • Reeking Aura, the death and doom act out of New York and New Jersey, are releasing Blood And Bonemeal on July 29th through Profound Lore. Check out the visualizer for “Seed The Size Of A Spider’s Eye” here.
  • We’ll wrap up the week with the new video from death metal legends Jungle Rot. The clip below is for “Genocidal Imperium”, a track from A Call to Arms. That album dropped this past Friday through Unique Leader, and it’s awesome.

CANTO: Cave In, Pyrithe, Ithaca, and More

Slowly, but surely, I am catching up on life.

  • We’ll open with the latest from Cave In. The second single from Heavy Pendulum was unveiled today, titled “Blinded By A Haze”. And yes, it’s another good one. As a reminder, that album is out on May 20th through Relapse Records.
  • If you missed it, Pyrithe announced details surrounding their long-awaited debut full-length not too long ago. Monuments To Impermanence is out on April 29th through Gilead Media, and today they shared a new single through Decibel. Give “Ekphrastik I” a listen here.
  • Pivoting to some tour news for the sake of mixing things up, Moonspell have announced North American dates with Swallow The Sun and Witherfall. Those dates are in August and September, and tickets are available here.
  • Ithaca shared a new track today, titled “In The Way”, which is the opener from They Fear Us. Their second album is set for a July 29th release through Hassle Records.
  • Texas death/black metal act Haunter shared a clip from “Chained At The Helm Of Eschaton”, a track taken from Discarnate Ails. That album drops next month through Profound Lore.
  • Closing with new material from Clutch feels like the right thing to do, so here’s the video for “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)”. Fun fact, that video was directed by David Brodsky. Of course, it’s can be streamed here as well.

CANTO: Meshuggah, Pestilence, Ihsahn, and More

Now pouring: Stoneface Brewing’s Mozzacalypse DDH double IPA. Forgot how delicious this monster is.

  • A couple videos to share today, even though it isn’t Friday yet. We’ll start with Crown, because I’ve been listening to The End Of All Things a lot recently. This is the clip for “Violence”, featured over at PopMatters. A reminder that the new album drops on April 16th through Pelagic Records.
  • Updates from Meshuggah are always noteworthy. They shared today that they have entered Sweetspot Studios to begin recording their ninth album. They’ve also announced the return of Fredrik Thordendal on guitars, who Per Nilsson had be subbed in for previously.
  • Pestilence have unveiled details about their upcoming new album. Exitivm will be available through Agonia Records on June 25th. Looks like a totally new lineup for this effort, as well. Get all the relevant information, including pre-order details, right here.
  • Ihsahn announced a livestream event, and I can never get enough Ihsahn, so let’s talk about that. On April 4th, he will be performing Telemark and Pharos in their entirety, with a guest appearance from Einar Solberg. Get your tickets here. I think I’m actually going to make this one!
  • And lastly, that other video I wanted to share today, which comes from Witherfall. This is the clip for “The Unyielding Grip of Each Passing Day”, taken from Curse of Autumn, which is out now through Century Media Enjoy.
