Been listening to A LOT of In Flames in recent days. Not gonna explain why just yet.
Chrome Waves, a project I caught onto after the release of A Grief Observed in 2018, just completed their second full-length. Where We Live will be out this coming September through Disorder Recordings. Here’s a teaser for those interested.
Second: holy shit how am I alive right now. I’ve been sick for pretty much this whole week and folks I gotta say, it’s not fun (although staying home from work has been very choice indeed). Extreme thanks for picking up my duties this week goes out to my Nine Circles brethren, I’m thankful for the great friends I do this with, including our newest additions to the crew Marie and Charles. Being sick doesn’t mean I’ve been off my music listening game, though, and neither have my cohorts, so check the link down below for the best of what we’ve been jamming. Welcome to a fresh new thing called Embracing the Descent where we will briefly discuss somewhere between one and a handful of the current week’s new releases. Every now and then we might look back a week but for the most part we’ll try and keep it current and somewhat regular. That’s the plan anyway. Now, there will be bias because let’s face it: listening to 40-60 albums each week ain’t happening so we’ll be highlighting a select few that stood out for whatever reason. Almost like a grab bag of sorts. We don’t know how we’ll land on the albums we highlight, how many albums we will highlight, or who will be highlighting them… But we figure everyone likes a good mystery.
