Cattle Decapitation have announced the “Death… At Last” tour with The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Extinction A.D., and Creeping Death. Those are U.S. dates beginning January 18th and running through February 20th. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday at this location.
And then we’ll jump over to Pelagic Records, where Som has announced the upcoming release of The Shape Of Everything. That drops on January 21st, and is available for preorder here. Check out the first track, “Animals”, right now at the previous link.
Cynic shared a preview of an upcoming new track, titled “Diamond Light Body”, through Season of Mist. That one is taken from Ascension Codes, which is out on November 26th and can be purchased here.
This came through yesterday but whatever. Dark Tranquillity are making their return to North America early next year with Kataklysm and Nailed To Obscurity. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday. They’ll be supporting Moment, a very good album… in case you needed a reminder.
We’re closing with the first single from The Halo Effect, and it’s titled “Shadowminds”. And I’m not gonna lie, I am really, really happy about it. That project recently inked a deal with Nuclear Blast, but album details haven’t quite emerged yet. We’ll keep you posted.

CANTO: Hate, The Ocean, Ensiferum, and More

I’ve been back at work one day and I’m already prepared to sprint into the woods without return.

This announcement is a couple days old, but it’s still worth sharing. The Ocean are releasing Phanerozoic Live on November 26th (through Pelagic Records, of course). The 3LP features both streaming performances of the Phanerozoic concept album, as well as access to HD video. Oh so tempting.
Seattle doom crew Deathcave have announced some December dates with Heiress and several others. The dates are mostly on the west coast, and run from December 2nd to 15th.
For those lucky enough to be in Europe, Ensiferum and Dark Tranquillity have a co-headlining tour scheduled for next April and May. To celebrate the announcement, check out the new video from Ensiferum for “Run from the Crushing Tide”, which is taken from Thalassic. That album dropped last year through Metal Blade.
Let’s toss in the new single from Goat Torment as well. Forked Tongues is out on October 29th through Season of Mist Underground Activists, and you can stream “Disorder and Disruption” right here.
We’ll close with death metal veterans Hate, who released a new video for “Resurgence”. That track is taken from Rugia, their 12th full-length album, which will be out on October 15th through Metal Blade Records.

CANTO: My Dying Bride, Wolf King, Dark Tranquillity, and More

We got a whole bunch of new videos to get to, so let’s jump right into it!

First we have My Dying Bride, who dropped a new EP today titled Macabre Cabaret. To mark the occasion, they also released a new video for the title-track.
Scour, the supergroup featuring members of Down, Pig Destroyer, and more also released a new video today for “Propaganda”. The Black EP officially drops next Friday, if you needed a reminder.
Wolf King have a new album on the way, titled The Path of Wrath. That one drops on March 5, 2021 through Prosthetic Records. Check out a new single, “Sanctuary”, right now.
Finally, let’s peep the new video from Dark Tranquillity for “Eyes of the World”. Moment is out today through Century Media, and is on my listening to-do list for this weekend.

CANTO: Cult of Luna, Dark Tranquillity, Harakiri For The Sky, and More

Wasn’t much going on yesterday, but fortunately there’s plenty to share on today!

Cult of Luna dropped a lot on us. They have a new EP out on February 5th titled The Raging River. Taking it a step further, that will be out through Red Creek, the band’s newly created record label. Metal Blade will be handling the physical distribution.
Dark Tranquillity will be performing Moments in its entirety during a livestream event scheduled for November 21st. Tickets can be scooped up here. Also, a reminder that the album itself is out on November 20th through Century Media.
Oh look, Abysmal Dawn covered the classic Candlemass track “Bewitched”. This is on my list of things to check out later on tonight… or when I’m avoiding work tomorrow. TBD.
Harakiri For The Sky released a new music video for “Sing For The Damage We’ve Done”, which features Neige of Alcest. Mӕre is set for a January 29th release through AOP Records.
