The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 285 (5.27.2023)

Are you all enjoying the Memorial Weekend? I was so excited to get out of the hellscape that is my job I ran into the woods without doing this week’s playlist…something I promised myself I’d take care of early. So here I am, tin foil and wire hangers concocted in such a way I can bend the bandwidth gods just enough to tell you about the new Horrendous and more in this, the 285th edition of the Nine Circles Playlist.

That means I’m going light with my picks and letting the staff speak for the site with a bevy of heavy, so to speak. We’ve got tracks from The Bleeding, Krocophile, Anchoret, Phlebotomized, Allfather, Pallid Veil, Panopticon (cannot wait for their vinyl remaster of Kentucky which is en route), Killing Joke, and a whole lot more.

Get listening. Stay safe. See you next week…

Chris

CANTO: Hexvessel, Induction, Sirenia, and More

My favorite Thursday night sentence: Last canto of the week! (Just kidding… or am I?)

  • Hexvessel are returning with their sixth album on September 22, titled Polar Veil, which will be out through Svart Records. Check out this clip for “Older Than The Gods” right here.
  • Symphonic power metal crew Induction shared a new track, “A Call Beyond”, the visualizer for which can be seen here. That comes about six months after the release of their sophomore album, Born From Fire, which is available through Atomic Fire.
  • I’ve seen some hype surrounding Divide and Dissolve, so let’s go there next. Systemic is out on June 30 through Invada Records, and a clip for the new track, “Indignation”, can be found here.
  • Tenhi released a lyric video for “Elokuun linnut”, a track from the upcoming Valkama. That new album is slated for a June 9 release through Prophecy Productions.
  • And we’ll close with some more symphonic stuff, because why not? Sirenia is dropping 1977 tomorrow, so here’s the performance video for the third single from that, “Wintry Heart”. That album is out through Napalm Records.

“Ein Bier… bitte.”

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 167 (2.6.2021)

playlist - mixtape

Late again. However, still in time for whatever rowdiness you may have up your sleeve for a Saturday. We’ve got new Cannibal Corpse, Cult of Luna and Gravesend. Plus a nasty one from Bonecarver, and choice cuts from Baest, Biesy, and Visigoth. All that and much more is hiding behind that playlist button below. Hit it and go crazy.

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 164 (1.16.2020)

playlist - mixtape

Clock on the wall says 1am and unsurprisingly cracking a bottle of Henry McKenna 10yr bourbon just feels right as I sample the picks we’ve assembled for this week’s playlist. Don’t judge me, no work tomorrow and after 40+ years of practice my eyes will open no later than 5am so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Anyway, we’ve got a stacked mixtape for this glorious Saturday and I’ve confirmed it’s, as they say, a banger. I bring some new Bloody Hammers and The Crown, Vince brings The Ruins of Beverast and Havukruunu, Didrik lays down a killer Woods of Ypres pick along with new Soen, Ian offers up a Møl cut and an Aara track, and Angela keeps the livestream Goatwhore feels alive as well as a selection from Divide and Dissolve. All that and a ton more awaits behind the play button below, so get after it.
