CANTO: Sanguisugabogg, Cattle Decapitation, Dryad, and More

I can’t wait to watch my favorite hockey team lose again tonight.

  • I haven’t heard from Heaven Shall Burn in awhile, so let’s start there. Their new digital single, “Pillars of Serpents”, will be featured on a 7″ split with Trivium. If you happen to be across the pond, you’ll be able to scoop that up during their upcoming tour.
  • Horrendous have completed work on their new album, which we should expect later this year from Season of Mist. While we await more details on that, they also have a couple of live dates next month, one in Brooklyn and one at Subterranean Dissonance Fest in Philly. Let’s not forget they’ll also be at Northwest Terror Fest in May. Killer.
  • Cattle Decapitation have revealed details surrounding their new album. Terrasite is set for a May 12th release through Metal Blade. We won’t get a new track until next month from the sounds of it, since this announcement wasn’t exactly, um, planned… get the full scoop here. Either way, I’m excited.
  • Sliding in some black metal, we have new stuff from Dryad to share. The title-track from their new album, The Abyssal Plain, was released today with an accompanying visualizer. Give that a watch here. That album drops on January 20th through Prosthetic Records.
  • Wrapping up, we have a gnarly new, very NSFW, video from Sanguisugabogg for “Face Ripped Off”. Homicidal Ecstasy is out on February 3rd through Century Media, and I know we’re all looking forward to it. More sentiments along those lines in the days ahead. For now… give the new flick a watch below.

CANTO: Amon Amarth, Dryad, Insanity Alert, and More

Another late running World Cup match, a beer, and no more work for the week. Yay.

CANTO: Wolfheart, Saint Asonia, Dryad, and More

One more day, and then this move into the mountains goes into full force.

  • Hard rock crew Saint Asonia have announced a new EP, titled Extrovert. That six-track collection will be out on November 18 through Spinefarm, and follows their Introvert EP from earlier this year. Give “Wolf” a listen here.
  • Out of Prosthetic Records, black metal project Dryad have announced a new album, titled The Abyssal Plain. That is set for a January 20 release, and a video for the lead single “Black Smoke” is available over at Decibel.
  • Out of the Season of Mist camp, Obsidious premiered a performance video of a new track titled “I Am”, with footage from Euroblast 2022. That’s taken from the progressive metallers upcoming debut album, Iconic, which drops tomorrow.
  • Closing out, we have the new video from melodic death metal outfit Wolfheart. Give “Knell” a watch and listen below, a track taken from King of the North. That album is out now through Napalm Records.

CANTO: I Prevail, Slipknot, Neckbeard Deathcamp, and More

neckbeard

Amazing! I have somehow emerged more tired from the weekend than when I entered it!

  • Neckbeard Deathcamp is hitting the road in May and June for “The Free Speech In America Tour” with Theories, Convictions, Wvrm, and Dryad on select dates.
  • Saw this coming. ICYMI last week, Chris Fehn brought some financial claims up against the rest of Slipknot. Today, it was announced that he is no longer a member of the band. Again, saw that coming.
  • Yesterday was St. Paddys’ Day. And what better way to celebrate the reinforcin’ o’ the stereotypes than with shed blood at a Dropkick Murphys’ show in Boston. It’s all just so… predictable.
  • We’ll close today with a new song and video from Detroit’s I Prevail. The title is “Paranoid”, and the track will be featured on their upcoming sophomore full length Trauma, which drops on March 29th through Fearless Records.
