Denver’s post-hardcore / progressive metal juggernaut Fathers released their self titled debut digitally last year and will be reissuing it on vinyl March 30 via Sailor Records. To that point, we have a contest going on right now that is in its final stages where you can win a copy for yourself, go here to get the details and ENTER! Anyway, I didn’t see nearly enough noise about this album upon its initial release so I’m hoping things will change now. Over the course of nine songs the band weaves a story that screams at those who have been abused, hurt, forgotten or otherwise pushed aside and gives wings for them to fly and be heard. A favorite track is hard to come by here, I thought several times I’d settled on mine but it constantly shifted and to the point that I finally relented and just let the whole album be a favorite. Yes indeed it is that good. Chugging ferocity meets emotional depth and it honestly melted my heart down to a throbbing mass of muscle and blood. Just ahead of the vinyl reissue and our contest winding down we had the chance to discuss our Profile set of questions with guitarist Eddie Maestes and you don’t want to miss his responses. Head inside to see what he had to say and by all means support the band. But also, enter to win that vinyl!
