The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 67 (02.16.2019)

playlist - mixtape

Welcome to the glorious end of another week.  This is especially nice for me, as I’m staring a nice three-day weekend in the face at the moment, which is gonna give me plenty of time to catch up on all the new releases I’ve been slacking on getting to (I did check out the Coltsblood and Un split today and boy howdy was that some good doom).  You can catch me holed up in my bed with my tablet and Spotify for 72 uninterrupted hours as the greater Los Angeles area slowly succumbs to the relentless sheets of rain we’ve been having for the last two weeks.  And if you need some listening inspiration, check out what tunes we’ve been digging below. Stay cozy, wherever you are.

Good morning ladies, fellas, and the people that don’t give a fuck.  We’re going to keep this short and sweet today because once again I am behind on time, somehow.  Even though my work week got cut short (thank you massive server error), it only meant I had to spend my free time doing all the important errands I had been putting off.  But now there’s breakfast, coffee, my car doesn’t make quite as many weird sounds as it used to, and of course there’s good music to get me pumped on yet another rainy Southern California day.  Lets hope this gets your weekend off to a good start too.

Welcome to the weekend y’all.  I for one am beyond stoked its here.  Even if I’m gonna be running around buying (somehow) more furniture for my apartment, it still feels like I’ve got some more breathing room.  The last couple days I barely had a minute to myself to unwind, but I’m excited to kick back with some tunes and fumble my way through vague Ikea instructions.  And boy do we have tunes today.  In addition to new albums from Ossuarium, Soen, Ithaca, and more heavy hitters, we bring you our own curated mix from across the sea of genres, for whatever mood your weekend takes.  Click play, and don’t forget to double check to make sure you aren’t missing any hardware for your new computer desk.

Frank’s Power Metal album of February 2018: Thaurorod – “Coast Of Gold”

Power Metal Frank

Ahoy there, sisters and brothers! How was your February? If it was awesome then congratulations, you have something in common with Power Metal. I’ve been absolutely giddy listening to all of the great power metal that has graced my ears. The final two weeks of the month have been especially satisfying, throwing us 10 albums. Holy Diver! Not only in quantity, but in terms of quality power metal probably had its best month in quite a long time. The only downside (not really) is I have to pick one as my personal favorite. It wasn’t easy because there are three or four that stand out from the others. I waited until the last possible moment which was a good thing because it assured me my pick was the right one. So, without further delay, I present to you my favorite Power Metal album of February 2018! Continue reading
