CANTO: Killswitch Engage, Swallow The Sun, Imperial Triumphant, and More

And as our journey around the flat circle of time continues, we have reached another weekend.

  • As is the case with most Fridays, we have a couple videos to share. And the first one is pretty awesome, featuring a Killswitch Engage performance of “Us Against the World” from their streaming performance at the Worcester Palladium.
  • Fit For An Autopsy have announced a new album, Oh What The Future Holds, which will be out on January 14th through Nuclear Blast. Check out the NSFW video for the first single from that album, “Far From Heaven”, right here.
  • Here’s a cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years”, brought to you by Beyond the Black. I haven’t listened to it yet, so if you check it out, do share how it went. Please and thanks.
  • It’d be a mistake to leave out Imperial Triumphant news. They announced a new live album, An Evening with Imperial Triumphant, which will be out on November 26th through Century Media.
  • We’ll close out the week with the new video from Swallow The Sun for “Woven Into Sorrow”. Moonflowers is set for a November 19th release through Century Media, and pre-orders for the record officially went live today.

CANTO: Wolves in the Throne Room, Gama Bomb, Fit For An Autopsy, and More

Last Canto of the week. Tomorrow will find me lakeside with a bunch of idiots I call my friends.

  • Fit For An Autopsy have announced a winter 2022 headlining tour, with support from Enterprise Earth, Ingested, Signs of the Swarm, and Great American Ghost. Those dates kick off January 5th and run through February 12th. Tickets are available here.
  • Watain, a band I don’t really care about but a lot of other people do, have signed on with Nuclear Blast. As of now, they’ve begun the recording process for a new album, which we can expect sometime in early 2022.
  • Soulfly has announced that Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares will be joining them on stage for their upcoming U.S. tour. Tickets for that tour are on sale now here.
  • Marc Rizzo has been busy, and revealed a new project today titled Hail The Horns. Get a sample of what’s to come with this lyric video for “God Of Thunder”, a cover of the Kiss classic. But wait, there’s more! Rizzo also has a new solo ‘best of’ album dropping on September 10th, titled Living Shred Vol. 1. That will be out through Godsize Records.
  • Irish thrash collective Gama Bomb have returned with a new single, “Thunder Over London”. That clip is the title-track from their surprise three-song digital EP, which is set for a release tomorrow (August 6th). That is out through Prosthetic Records.
  • I’m getting more and more excited about Primordial Arcana, the latest album from Wolves in the Throne Room. So we’re going to wrap up today with the new video for “Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire). That album drops on August 20th through Relapse Records.

CANTO: Kvelertak, Fit For An Autopsy, Megadeth, and More

kvelertak

Week four has begun.

  • Kvelertak are the latest band (that I’ve paid attention to at least) to announce a live performance streamed via the interwebs. The show is scheduled for April 10th (this coming Friday) and will be available to view at this location.
  • Megadeth recently dropped a pre-order for a T-shirt bundle that comes with a mask, because of the all this COVID-19 stuff. A portion of the proceeds are going to relief efforts. Interestingly, I no longer see the item on the website. Did it sell out already? Hmm…
  • In case you missed this last Friday, Panopticon dropped a new EP titled Beast Rider to help support the musicians that have had it particularly challenging during the COVID-19 situation. If you haven’t snagged it yet, here’s your chance.
  • Fit For An Autopsy dropped a new single/video through Nuclear Blast. It’s called “Fear Tomorrow”, and to make your lives easy, it’s embedded for your viewing pleasure below.

CANTO: Green Carnation, Hatebreed, Whitechapel, and More

The Ocean

A couple long days in the books. A couple long days until mountains.

  • Yo, check out this lineup for UK Tech-Fest. The Ocean, Black Crown Initiate, Fit For An Autopsy… There is zero chance of me making this festival (July 2nd – 6th), but if I could I absolutely would.
  • Hatebreed have announced a headlining 2020 tour here in the U.S. The dates are in May and support is in the form of After The Burial, Havok, and Creeping Death. Tickets can be found here this Friday.
  • One more tour for today. Whitechapel have announced the Burn To Emerge U.S. tour this coming May and June. Support on that one will be from As I Lay Dying and Shadow Of Intent. I will 100% NOT be attending this one.
  • Green Carnation have revealed new album details. It’s been 14 years since the last album, but May 8th will bring us Leaves of Yesteryear through Season of Mist. You can check out the title-track right now.
