Horrendous have completed work on their new album, which we should expect later this year from Season of Mist. While we await more details on that, they also have a couple of live dates next month, one in Brooklyn and one at Subterranean Dissonance Fest in Philly. Let’s not forget they’ll also be at Northwest Terror Fest in May. Killer.
Cattle Decapitation have revealed details surrounding their new album. Terrasite is set for a May 12th release through Metal Blade. We won’t get a new track until next month from the sounds of it, since this announcement wasn’t exactly, um, planned… get the full scoop here. Either way, I’m excited.
Sliding in some black metal, we have new stuff from Dryad to share. The title-track from their new album, The Abyssal Plain, was released today with an accompanying visualizer. Give that a watch here. That album drops on January 20th through Prosthetic Records.
I most certainly do not need to go into detail about all the chaos and confusion that has existed in the world over the past three years. 2022 has been especially filled with new challenges and uncertainties, to the point where now I just throw my hands in the air and laugh as it all keeps piling up. And a second one is running. Which is what brings us here today.
Vader have unveiled the artwork for their upcoming new album, Solitude In Madness. That drops on May 1st through Nuclear Blast, and pre-orders are available at this location. They also have some European tour dates coming up.
Check out the new video from Heaven Shall Burn for the new single “Eradicate”. Of Truth And Sacrifice will be out March 20th through Century Media. These guys are fun, I’m going to continue to pay attention to their going-ons.
Anyone complaining that there hasn’t been a great week for metal thus far in 2016 needs to go immediately and start over, but there won’t be any complaining after this week. Mostly due to Neurosis‘ highly anticipated eleventh full length Fires Within Fires finally seeing the light of day. But that’s not all; Fatalist are back with their insanely good Swedeath saturated The Bitter End, Predatory Light further their black metal chaos on Predatory Light, Trap Them punch you in the mouth with their fifth album Crown Feral while Witchskull breaks out the bluesy doom on The Vast Electric Dark. Switching gears a bit, Dysrhythmia bends time on their progressive instru-metal album The Veil Of Control — let the dissecting begin. And last but not least, Insomnium‘s epic fifth full length Winter’s Gate is a blast. As stated, its another stacked week here on Initial Descent and literally, there’s something for everyone. So hit that ‘continue reading’ link. Continue reading →
