I woke up to a newsletter from Der Weg einer Freiheit this morning, which is always a good way to start a day. The black metallers out of Germany have signed a fresh contract with Season of Mist, and are preparing a new album for next year.
White Void have signed on to a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records, as they prepare for the release of their debut album. Anti will be out on March 12th, and you can check out a teaser of that album here.
INNO, the dark metal project featuring members of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Hour Of Penance, premiered a new video today for “The Last Sun”. That track is taken from The Rain Under (Time To Kill Records), and you can give it a watch immediately below.
Only Canto this week. It’s what happens when you get back into town on a Tuesday night and immediately leave again the following Friday.
Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest 2020 has released the first round of bands — Converge, Satan, Napalm Death, Mayhem… — and breweries — Broken Goblet, 3 Floyds, Yards… — this is gonna be a party. Maybe this time I will make it.
Welcome back to another edition of our Saturday morning playlist, guaranteed to wake you up faster than a cup of coffee and a Red Bull combined. Every week we’re bringing you the best of what we’ve been listening to in our spare time, because we know you’re curious about what our staff do with their off-hours. This week, Josh stacks up Cloak and Tribulation side-by-side in a battle of goth-n-roll, Hera combines black metal, melodeath, and Rammstein in a quintessential Hera move, and I throw in a tribute to an artist I’ve long admired who unfortunately passed away this past week, the inimitable Daniel Johnston. Sit down, tune in, and get your weekend started right.
DragonForce (still a thing), have revealed details regarding their next album. Their eighth full length will be called Extreme Power Metal and it drops on September 27th. You can check out a video for the first single now, titled “Highway to Oblivion.”
