Donuts & CANTO: Spirit Adrift, Thy Art Is Murder, Sunrot, and More

Yeah, I did that thing again where I went from work to beer and now this is a Saturday morning post.

So let’s lead in with the new track from Spirit Adrift that I happen to enjoy quite a bit. Check out the lyric video for “Death Won’t Stop Me” here. We’ll need to wait a bit for the new album, however. Ghost at the Gallows is set for an August 18 release through Century Media.
Next up, we have fresh stuff from Thy Art Is Murder. Give the visualizer for “Until There Is No Longer” a watch. That track will be featured on the upcoming Nuclear Blast mini-album titled The Aggression Sessions, which also features the likes of Malevolence and Fit For An Autopsy, and is set for an April 7 release.
Ov Sulfur revealed a new track that features Howard Jones, titled “Wide Open”. Check out the AI-generated video for it here. Their debut album, The Burden Ov Faith, is out today through Century Media.
Ihsahn just dropped the Fascination Street Sessions EP, so let’s check out some stuff from that. Give “The Observer” a listen, a track that features Øystein H. Aadland. That collection, by the way, is out through Candlelight.
Just in time for their European tour, Warbringer dropped a music video for “Unraveling”. That track is taken from 2020’s Weapons of Tomorrow, which is available through Napalm Records.
And I will leave you on this fine Saturday with new stuff from Sunrot. The New Jersey sludge group is dropping The Unfailing Rope on April 7 through Prosthetic Records. Check out the video for the new track “Trepanation” below.

CANTO: Malevolence, Gaerea, Bewitcher, and More

I can already tell the rest of this week is going to be a complete dumpster fire.

Those out on the West coast should be excited about the Bewitcher and Wormwitch dates this coming November. It’s only a small handful of shows over the course of a week, but if you can swing it, you’re in for a party.
Malevolence revealed some awesome footage of “Karma” being performed at Bloodstock Open Air 2022. Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos joined them on stage for the track, so needless to say this clip is worth checking out.
Louisiana black/death trio Faustian have announced a deal with Black Lion Records, and have released the first single from their upcoming self-titled debut EP. That officially drops on September 7th, but jump over to their YouTube channel and give “Birth of Apparitions” a listen now.
And, of course, we’re going to close with the latest from Gaerea. Check out the video for “Mirage” below, the title-track from their upcoming new album. That release is one I have circled, and it’s set for September 23rd through Season of Mist.

CANTO: Fallujah, Malevolence, Choke, and More

Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, the heat is approaching a suffocating level at this point.

We’ll lead off this Thursday with some Fallujah, specifically referring to the latest, and final, single from Empyrean. Check out “Soulbreaker” here, and get ready for the release of that album on September 9th through Nuclear Blast.
We’ll jump over to At The Gates next, who unveiled a music video for “Garden Of Cyrus”. That’s a track taken from The Nightmare of Being, which dropped last year through Century Media. Oh, and if you’re across the pond, they’re doing a killer run of shows with In Flames closer to the end of the year.
Want some death grind in your Thursday playlist? Check out the latest from Choke. They have a new EP dropping through Translation Loss titled Desiphon, and a video for “Lust For Death” is streaming over at Metal Injection if you want to give them a click.

CANTO: Crown The Empire, Anthrax, Black Label Society, and More

Coming at you really late tonight because there was just that much going on today.

There were a lot of tour announcements today, so we’ll share a few at random. Up first, we have Crown The Empire, who have announced the 10th anniversary tour for The Fallout. Those U.S. dates cover May 30th through July 3rd, and support is in the form of D.R.U.G.S., The Word Alive, and Before I Wake.
From there, we have a fairly massive tour featuring Anthrax, Black Label Society, and Hatebreed. Those are July and August dates, and tickets go on sale this coming Friday. They can be picked up here, or here.
And the third of three new tours we’ll drop in here features The Acacia Strain, with Malevolence, I AM, and 156/Silence. Those are June and July dates, and tickets will be available here.
Rounding out with a couple non-concert things, we also have a new single from Luminous Vault, titled “Ancient North”. Animate The Emptiness is out next month through Profound Lore.
And finally, a new video from Valley of the Sun, for “Devil I’ve Become”. The Chariot is set for a June 17th release through Ripple Music and Fuzzorama Records, and can be purchased here.

CANTO: Falls of Rauros, Hammerfall, Malevolence, and More

I am… overwhelmed. At least 2022 is off to a fast start in the world of heavy music.

Speaking of which, we’ll lead in with new stuff from Falls of Rauros. A new track, “Poverty Hymn”, is streaming over at Invisible Oranges. As a reminder, Key To A Vanishing Future is set for a March 25th release through Gilead Media… and we are all very excited.
Gothic rockers Christian Death have revealed a cover of David Bowie’s “Quicksand”. Here’s the video for it. I’m going to check this out eventually, but eventually is not now. Evil Becomes Rule is out on May 6th through Season of Mist.
Malevolence have announced a new album, Malicious Intent. Their third full-length album will be released on May 20th through their own MLVLTD label in partnership with Nuclear Blast. Pre-order it here, and check out the first single from that effort, “On Broken Glass”.
Spite are headlining a U.S. tour this coming May and June (and I guess July) with Boundaries, Vatican, No Zodiac, and Bodybox. Ticket go on sale this coming Friday here.
And we’ll close with the latest from Hammerfall. This is the new track and video, “Brotherhood”. Hammer of Dawn is out February 25th, this coming Friday, through Napalm Records.
