Throwback Thursday: Happy 44th, Igor Cavalera!

So with yesterday being the 30th anniversary of Iron Maiden’s Powerslave, I agonized over whether to devote today’s edition of Throwback Thursday to one of the many classic tracks from that album. But ultimately, your social media timelines are being inundated with #tbt‘s today–not #tbw‘s–and dammit, we’re a blog of integrity here at Horns Up. (Ha. Okay, we’re a blog of integrity on occasion, at least.) So…sorry, Maiden. We’ll get ya next year when Powerslave turns…31. Bleh.

But fortunately, there was a nice fix to this conundrum, and it came in the form of today being longtime Sepultura / Cavalera Conspiracy drummer Igor Cavalera’s 44th birthday! Hooray! Now there’s a #tbt we can get behind! In honor of the skinsman’s special day, here’s a look back at a classic track that just hit drinking age itself earlier this week–the live staple “Territory,” from 1993’s Chaos A.D.

Aww, look at that–always warms the heart to revisit less-overweight and less-hoboriffic Max Cavalera moments. Even if this one is, ostensibly, meant to pay tribute to his brother. Either way, great tune that remains one of my favorite Sepultura songs to this day. That’ll do it for this week’s #tbt. Send us yours and make sure to check back later today for Quickies!
