I may have been behind in my playlist duties last week but I’m coming back with a vengeance today. Thanks to Josh, as ever, for having my back when life causes things to slip through the cracks. As usual, today brings another opportunity for us here at 9C to grace your ears with our sublime and spotless taste in songs. This week, my own playlist picks run the gamut from folk to classic Coheed and Cambria to death metal, we’ve got new jams from Coffins and Blanck Mass, and Chris throws some Joe Satriani in there for good measure. Look here, we enjoy doing these playlists and sharing what we, collectively, have been listening to over the past week. And, it’s a great opportunity to share some really amazing track premieres too – always a plus. The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 52 (9.8.2018)
Fall is teasing us with slightly cooler nights and 2018 is not getting any weaker on the back end for metal releases. The hits just keep coming: The Ocean recently announced Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic for a November street date FINALLY, and Evoken will serve up Hypnagogia in that same month. We will also see albums from Hate Eternal, Voivod, Sumac, Megaton Leviathan and so many more before this year is done, all of it excites me to no end. Fall has the same effect; Halloween and horror movies and fires…yessss. I’ve gotten all out of sorts here as you can clearly see but you came to check out what we’ve been listening to over the past two weeks so let’s get to it.
