I find it amusing how deadlines get tighter and tighter yet info to meet these deadlines gets later and later. If you feel this pain, gimme a hell yeah in the comments. Anyway, as we journey deeper into the backside of 2020 the new release lists grow longer which just means more to choose from. Or overload, depending on perspective. But, either way, we win. This week sees the legendary grind masters Napalm Death return with their sixteenth(!) full length and it’s, as expected, a mindblowing experience—might just be their finest since we turned a new century, Hostia puts up their second full length of deathgrind and it’s clear these guys have honed their skills since their debut, generally a Various Artists album wouldn’t make top billing but Dirt, Redux is a fantastic homage to Alice In Chains with a fantastic list of contributing bands so do it, and Atlanta’s Palaces offer up some brutal, nasty noise metal. And, tons more to follow so get in there and spend some cabbage.

Profile: Atlanta’s Noise Rockers Palaces

Unless you’re either an Atlanta concert lizard or a huge fan of noise rock, chances are you’ve never heard of Palaces. And truly, that’s a damn shame. BUT, the band is readying their first output since 2012 in the form of Hellas Chasma and it’s a cavalcade of brutal noise rock that at times eschews the genre for grind, punk or hardcore. Plainly put, this is a nine headed beast that ain’t for the faint of heart. Just ahead of the album’s release we had the chance to pose our set of Profile questions to the trio so head inside to see what they had to say.
