The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 233 (5.28.2022)

playlist - mixtape

Greetings, everyone! Corey coming at you with our weekly playlist this time, as Chris is off doing way more fun things than this. Meanwhile, I’m on Cape Cod for a wedding this weekend. A cold… rainy… bleak Cape Cod on Memorial Day weekend. Is that also more fun than this? Maybe. And just to pout a little bit, seeing all my friends MDFing this weekend has also brought some nostalgia feels. Oh well. At least I have a fridge full of Tree House to entertain myself with up to and (if I pace myself) through the Champions League Final. Now that’s a tradition on this holiday weekend that I do still very much enjoy and practice. ANYWAY.

Fortunately, even on these dreariest of Saturdays, we have these handful of songs to entertain ourselves with for a spell. This time around, part of the playlist is directly inspired by a very important album announcement from Blind Guardian, something we should all be celebrating. Beyond that, we covered quite the range this week. On the more gothic side of things we have some stuff from The Sisters of Mercy and Chelsea Wolfe, new material from Cavernlight and Behold! The Monolith to pummel you into the ground, and then a few classics from the likes of Entrails and Nasum, and, of course, so so much more. You know what to do. Hit that Play button below, and sit back and enjoy the grey.

playlist - mixtape

So, another Saturday is upon us and what are you doing with it? Outside maybe? Well, obviously not if you’re reading this and thank you, by the way, for that. Once you get done reading, take this playlist of tunes with you and get the heck outside. Or do something. I’m sure there’s a show playing local to you or a pool to get into or a creek to cool off in. You get the point, just do something but play this loud as hell whatever you’re doing. Yesterday was one hell of a release day and we’ve got a little of that here plus a whole lot more. You know the drill, hit the play button and let the rough side drag. That’s what the weekend is for.

Not sure how many of you were hit with the snow but it was fun while it lasted. With temps in the 40’s yesterday it’s all but gone from here. We got it early in the season so there’s a good chance we’ll get more, or not. Last week’s playlist was long enough to keep the music going until now but it’s Monday again and that means another playlist. This time, it’s all about what we were listening to last week and hopefully these picks will knock the weekend cobwebs out. Grab some more coffee and say hello to the new week with us and our varied picks. Continue reading

Good morning all, hope that monster size cup of coffee is treating you right so far. Plenty of the same happening here and the eyes are finally losing their weekend glaze. I hit up Primitive Man and Bell Witch over the weekend, the ears are still ringing but it hurts so good — you all know that feeling very well I’m sure. More to come on that at a later date but for now we must fill your ears with the goodness we, collectively, were listening to last week and consequently help those of you who don’t drink coffee. Consider it a pick me up, you’re welcome. Anyway, subscribe to our You Tube channel here and head inside for your Monday morning blast. Continue reading
