Profile: Melodic Death Metallers The Last Reign

The Last Reign

Last week we featured an early look at The Last Reign’s powerful new EP, Prelude, in which the band offers up three tracks of top shelf melodic death metal yanked straight from the 90s highlight reel. To be clear, it’s not a knockoff nor does it ride any coattails. Instead, it puts an exclamation mark on the melodically epic side of things while leaving just the right amount of heft and harshness so that one facet doesn’t outshine the other. This EP has made a huge impression here at Nine Circles so we reached out with our Profile questions to find out more about the band. Read on to see how it went down and don’t leave without snagging a copy for yourself. Continue reading

EP Premiere: The Last Reign – “Prelude”

The Last Reign - Prelude

If the early 2000s era of melodic death metal and bands such as In Flames and Soilwork bring glee (as they should), New York’s The Last Reign needs to be on your radar. The band formed in 2015 and have a demo and full length under their belts and now are on the eve of a new EP, Prelude. And yes, it is a prelude to an impending second full length which is in the recording process as we speak. With several line up changes over the past couple of years, the band sounds better than ever and, based on these three tracks, are poised for an extraordinary future in the melodeath arena. Today we are thrilled to bring you a full EP Premiere just ahead of its release tomorrow. Head directly below to get your dose of melodeath and proceed to the links contained within to snag a copy for yourself.
