CANTO: Threshold, Therion, Slugcrust, and More

Life is getting weird, folks. But with weirdness comes opportunity? Something like that.

  • To kick things off on this bizarre Friday of a bizarre week, we have new stuff from Threshold. The progressive metallers are releasing Dividing Lines on November 18th through Nuclear Blast, and today they unveiled the second single from that album, titled “King Of Nothing”.
  • Screw it, let’s grab another one off the Nuclear Blast pile. Therion just released “Pazuzu”, the latest single from Leviathan II. That drops on October 28th. So if you’re looking for some symphonic metal going into your weekend, you may as well start here.
  • It was Dead End Kings that officially got me hooked on Katatonia… forever. So I’m happy to announce that Peaceville is releasing the 10th anniversary of that incredible album on November 11th. And I truly cannot believe that release was 10 years ago. Anyway, here’s a preview link.
  • Closing out with something from the Prosthetic camp, we have the latest from Slugcrust. Their debut album, Ecocide, is out on September 9th, and the video for “Demise Promise” is available right below. Enjoy.

CANTO: Abhor, Soilwork, Sinner, and More

I wasn’t planning on this post today, but work decided to be less shitty than I anticipated so here we are!

  • Threshold are releasing their 12th full-length album, which will be titled Dividing Lines, on November 18th through Nuclear Blast. Get your first sampling from that album with the new video for “Silenced”.
  • Abhor is a band that calls back to my early blogging days, so I’m happy to hear about their upcoming new material. Sex Sex Sex (Ceremonia Daemonis Antichristi) will be out on September 23rd through Iron Bonehead. Give “Evil Mentor” a listen here.
  • German hard rock crew Sinner unleashed their new album, Brotherhood, today through Atomic Fire Records. To mark the occasion, give the lyric video for “The Last Generation” a watch.
  • Michigan metalcore band Of Virtue are releasing a new EP on August 12th coincidentally also called Sinner. That will be available through Arising Empire, and pre-orders are officially live.
  • I’ve been listening to Övergivenheten a ton these last few days, so let’s close with the latest from Soilwork. Below is the video for “Dream Of Nowhere”. As a reminder, that album is out on August 19th through Nuclear Blast.

Well folks, this is my last post until at least the 26th, as I will be in Wyoming do mountain man stuff followed by Fire In The Mountains stuff. Be well, and I’ll see ya on the other side.

CANTO: Imperial Triumphant, Threshold, Endseeker, and More

I have returned from the woods mostly unscathed.

  • Imperial Triumphant are returning to the stage this coming October. They’ll be joined by Pyrrhon for a headlining tour that runs across the United States from October 15th through the 31st. I really, really hope to make it to one of these shows.
  • Switching gears a bit, Ego Kill Talent have announced a new acoustic EP series. The first of three installments, which includes tracks “Our Song”, “Diamonds & Landmines”, and “The Reason”, will drop on July 9th. The release dates for the other two EPs in the Ego Kill Talent: Acoustic project are still to be determined.
  • British prog metallers Threshold have announced their return to the studio. They’ll be recording the follow-up to 2017’s Legends Of The Shire. Most of the details behind the new album are still to come, but we can expect an early 2022 release through Nuclear Blast.
  • We’ll wrap up Tuesday with the new video from Endseeker for “Bloodline”. That track is taken from Mount Carcass, which dropped back in April through Metal Blade. Check it out below.
