It’s new release Tuesday! With Corey coming back to the fold after some time away in Germany, we’re going to break from our usual format and abstain from covering any new releases on this week’s podcast. (Instead, it’s going to be a full-on recap of his experience at the Wacken Open Air festival. And, presumably, his experience in Munich, drinking beer.)
The timing of this is actually quite fortuitous, as there’s…not really all that much new stuff to listen to this week. But that said, here are some highlights that you may want to check out on your own time. We may get to them as well, but…we may not. Here goes:
—
August 12, 2014
Postcoital Ulceration – Continuation of Defective Existence After Multiple Ruinous Collapses (Ghastly Music)
(Yes, this is a real album title)
—
John 5 – Careful With That Axe (60 Cycle Hum)
—
Unisonic – Light of Dawn (earMUSIC)
—
This week also sees the release of Upon a Burning Body’s new album, The World is My Enemy Now, which I cannot in good conscience recommend for a couple of reasons. First: they’re fucking terrible. Second: THE SINGER FAKED HIS OWN KIDNAPPING AS A PUBLICITY STUNT TO PROMOTE THIS RECORD. If you don’t have severe moral qualms about listening to them after shit like this, I really question you as a human being. So avoid this one and check out the albums I mentioned above instead.
(Particularly that John 5 record–pure shred guitar awesomeness. Is this guy really still playing with Rob Zombie? Like, really?)
Live. Love. Plow. Horns Up.
