Yeah…sometimes life just comes up and not only bites you in the ass, but grabs a hold and throws you down in the ditch, pisses on your head and laughs as it walks away. So this week’s edition – the 272nd – of the Nine Circles Playlist is coming a little later than it should, and that’s all on me. So I’m gonna make the preamble short and just get right into the meat of the matter, starting with a doozy from the new Venomous Concept album. I love the more punk and post-punk elements on it and hope you will, too. Looking through my recent vinyl acquisitions we’re also gonna drop a pair of 90s classics from Eucharist and Amorphis so you can all feel that weird snare and the cold ice blue of Finnish metal.

The rest of the staff will keep things on par with the usual varied insanity. So get your ears ready for music from the likes of Usnea, Klone, Polymoon, Grave Pleasures, Birdflesh, Lotus Eater Machine, Gravpel, Ulthar, Leander Kills, Dååth, Botanist, Big|Brave, Anatomy of Habit, and the newest from VoidCeremony. But that’s not all: you get some old emo from Marietta, some more In Flames love, older tracks from Opeth, Spectral Lore and Madder Mortem and a few more surprises, not to mention the ALWAYS appropriate Joy Division to close things out.

CANTO: Carcass, Orthodox, Siege Of Power, and More

Let’s face it, the only reason this post happens is because it takes forever to clean out the inbox each day already. Multitasking!

Now this is a tour I hope someone on the Nine Circles team covers. Carcass, with Municipal Waste, Sacred Reich, and Creeping Death. Those North American dates fall (almost entirely) in April. As always, tickets go on sale this coming Friday.
Next up, we have a new video from Orthodox, launched just ahead of their upcoming tour. Give the clip for “Nothing to See” a watch here. That’s a track taken from Learning To Dissolve, which dropped last year through Century Media.
Alright, let’s work in some death metal. Siege Of Power are releasing This Is Tomorrow on February 17 through Metal Blade, and today they unveiled a visualizer for “The Devil’s Grasp”.
Crown Lands are releasing their sophomore album, Fearless, on March 31 through Spinefarm Records. Check out “Starlifter: Fearless Pt. II”, the epic 18-minute opener, right here.
Closing out, we have the hardcore punk project known as Venomous Concept. Below you’ll find the video for “Fractured”. The new album, The Good Ship Lollipop, will be out on February 24 through Decibel Records.

CANTO: Venomous Concept, Ihsahn, Falling In Reverse, and More

Falling In Reverse released a new track called “Carry On” that was originally recorded during the 2017 Coming Home sessions. You can stream it here if you feel so inclined.
Moving in a different stylistic direction, Venomous Concept also released a new track titled “Eliminate”. That one is taken from their upcoming full-length, Politics Versus The Erection, which is out August 28th through Season of Mist.
Ihsahn is hinting at something here. If I were to take a guess, I would say (and strongly hope) we are getting the follow-up EP to Telemark, which dropped earlier this year.
And we will mix things up with some Swiss metalcore to round out the evening. This is End of Silence with the new video for “Edge Of The Road”, taken from 2019’s Sail To The Sunset. Give it a watch below.
