Receiving the Evcharist: Wvrm and Mighty Cascade

Receiving the Evcharist 2018

Receiving the Evcharist is our weekly feature where we pair choice albums with our favorite libations. Drink from the cup of heresy. This week’s offering: Wvrm’s Colony Collapse and Kennebunkport Brewing Company’s Mighty Cascade.

CANTO: Irist, Napalm Death, Neck of the Woods, and More

irist

Would YOU love a monsterman? That’s the real question.

  • Some somber news to start off with. Corrosion of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin passed away at the age of 53. The cause of death has not been revealed, but you can read a statement from the band here.
  • There are some more headlining dates for Napalm Death coming in the near future. Those are North American dates in April and May, and support will include WVRM, Tombs, Aborted, The Locust… etc.
  • Neck of the Woods have signed on with Pelagic Records for the release of their latest full-length. The Annex Of Ire drops on March 20th. I generally pay close attention to releases under that label, and this will be no different.
  • So this is some seriously awesome shit that I totally missed a couple days ago. This is a video for “Burning Sage”, the first single from Irist, whose debut album drops on March 27th via Nuclear Blast. It’ll be titled Order Of The Mind, and is a record you absolutely cannot miss.

CANTO: I Prevail, Slipknot, Neckbeard Deathcamp, and More

neckbeard

Amazing! I have somehow emerged more tired from the weekend than when I entered it!

  • Neckbeard Deathcamp is hitting the road in May and June for “The Free Speech In America Tour” with Theories, Convictions, Wvrm, and Dryad on select dates.
  • Saw this coming. ICYMI last week, Chris Fehn brought some financial claims up against the rest of Slipknot. Today, it was announced that he is no longer a member of the band. Again, saw that coming.
  • Yesterday was St. Paddys’ Day. And what better way to celebrate the reinforcin’ o’ the stereotypes than with shed blood at a Dropkick Murphys’ show in Boston. It’s all just so… predictable.
  • We’ll close today with a new song and video from Detroit’s I Prevail. The title is “Paranoid”, and the track will be featured on their upcoming sophomore full length Trauma, which drops on March 29th through Fearless Records.

The Nine Circles Playlist: Vol. 2 (7.31.2017)

NINE-CIRCLES_LOGO-Light Background_SQUARE

Happy Monday, everyone! Welcome to the second volume of our playlist series. Once again, the team is pumped to bring you a collection of tracks that we have been listening to over the past week. It’s been a busy few weeks and it’s only going to get more hectic as we move through what is (already) the climax of the summer, so we’re going to keep this introduction short and sweet. Here’s to hoping you enjoy our sampling and that it makes the start of another week a little more tolerable! Continue reading
