Hopefully I’m done writing my Best of 2018 post tonight… but I wouldn’t be optimistic.

  • Black Flags Over Brooklyn, New York’s first ever anti-fascist metal festival, has finalized its lineup. Notables (to me) include Morne, Cloud Rat, and Glacial Tomb, among others. The festival is January 25th and 26th at Brooklyn Bazaar.
  • Some news from Monotheist. The group welcomes new drummer Chris Stropoli and vocalist Cooper Bates. They’ll be on tour with Cognitive next month for a handful of shows. Get at that.
  • Mark Morton has released the second single from his debut solo album, Anesthetic, which will be out on March 1st. This track is called “Cross Off” and it features Chester Bennington.
  • King Diamond’s Songs for the Dead Live won’t be out for a couple more weeks. Fortunately, you can peep a preview right now. This is “Arrival (Live at Graspop)”. Enjoy the shit out of it.
