CANTO: Cloak, Deathstars, High Priest, and More

Thankfully there’s a little bit more going on today.

For example, the new stuff from Cloak. We’re all excited about Black Flame Eternal, which is out on May 26 through Season of Mist, so we may as well open with their new track, titled “Seven Thunders”. Give the lyric video for that a watch here.
Out of Nuclear Blast, Deathstars shared a lyric video for the new track “Angel Of Fortune And Crime”. That’s taken from their upcoming new album, Everything Destroys You, which drops on May 5.
If you’re looking for a little symphonic deathcore, Worm Shepherd dropped a new standalone single titled “The Frozen Lake Pt II (The Ruined)” through Unique Leader Records. Give the video for that a watch here.
Death/thrashers Nervosa revealed their new lineup, featuring new vocalist Prika Amaral. Check out “Endless Ambition”, with her on vocals, here. That was released through Napalm Records.
And we’ll close out our Tuesday with the new video from High Priest. Give the clip for “Divinity” a watch below, a track taken from their forthcoming debut album, Invocation. That drops on June 23 through Magnetic Eye Records.

CANTO: Enforced, Wailin Storms, Deathstars, and More

I have been on quite the Four Stroke Baron binge today. Wild.

We’ll start with something in more of the prog rock space. Black Orchid Empire are releasing Tempus Veritas on April 14 through Season of Mist, and today they unveiled “Glory To The King”. Give the lyric video for that a watch here.
How about a tour next? Wailin Storms have some North American dates coming up, running from May 17 through early June. Naturally, they’ll be supporting last year’s The Silver Snake Unfolds, which is out through Gilead.
Cemetary have signed on to join the Atomic Fire Records roster, with a new record on the horizon sometime later this year. Considering all the years of inactivity, we’re going to keep a close eye on what the Swedish cult metal project is up to.
More Swedish things! Industrial collective Deathstars are releasing Everything Destroys You on May 5 through Nuclear Blast, and today they shared a new video for the second single from that effort, “Midnight Party”.
Enforced are releasing War Remains on April 28 through Century Media, and I feel like I need some thrash in my life this evening, so I’ll see myself out with their new track “Hanged By My Hand”. Give it a watch below.

CANTO: Majesties, Rotten Sound, Deathstars, and More

Major box checked today on the to-do list, which means it’s time to buy some stuff I don’t need.

Leading off, we have the latest from Majesties. I know we’re all excited for Vast Reaches Unclaimed, which is officially out on March 3rd through 20 Buck Spin, so let’s give “In Yearning, Alive” a listen. Unsurprisingly, it’s awesome. I can’t wait to hear this thing in full.
Connecticut-based melodic death/doom band Fires In The Distance have set April 28th as the release date for Air Not Meant For Us, which will be available through Prosthetic Records. Today they’re streaming a lyric video for the new track “Harbingers” over at Knotfest.
Swedish industrial act Deathstars have announced details surrounding Everything Destroys You. Their first release in over eight years will be out on May 5th through Nuclear Blast, and a video for the new track “This Is” can be seen here.
Doom legends Candlemass offered up a lyric video for “Angel Battle”, a track taken from Sweet Evil Sun. That album is out now through Napalm.
Out of Season of Mist, we have some fresh Finnish grindcore to tie this all up with. Check out the video from Rotten Sound for “Suburban Bliss” below. That one is taken from Apocalypse, their eighth studio album set for a March 31st release. The hits keep on coming already in 2023.

- Leading off, Deftones have announced the Swerve City IPA — the band’s second collaboration with San Diego-based Belching Beaver Brewery. No idea how Deftones and beer go together, but “Swerve City” is one of my favorite tunes of theirs, so…worth a shot?

Quickies: It’s Our 500th Post… I think! New Stuff from Enslaved, Lindemann, and Faith No More.

I was told that this is going to be our 500th post. I could easily take a look at hour history to verify, but I would much rather do nothing and assume those words are true. So, that in mind, go us! Happy fucking Monday, ya assholes!

Lindemann has offered a taste of his new solo work. For those that need a refresher, Till Lindemann has team up with Peter Tagtgren for a project titled, simply, Lindemann. Those 40 seconds sounded exactly as I would expect them too.
Why wait another week? Enslaved has made their entire new album, In Times, available for streaming. I encourage you all to get on this shit IMMEDIATELY.
Septicflesh will be running through North America this spring with Moonspell and Deathstars. Actually, a reasonably solid lineup. I could dabble.
This was big news this weekend. Dimebag Darrell’s grave was desecrated and the responsible party’s appear to be tied to Nuclear Hellfrost (who nobody gives a fuck about). The ex-lead singer issued a statement taking full responsibility. Internet world, you know what to do.
On a more positive note, how about a new track from Faith No More? This one is called “Superhero”.

I enjoy it. Sol Invictus will be out May 19th.
