Some seriously cool shit to share this Friday. Not a bad way to start a weekend.
Kataan, the newest project featuring Nicholas Thornbury (Vattnet Viskar) and Brett Boland (Astronoid), have signed on with Prosthetic Records, and have announced a self-titled debut EP set for a May 7th release. Check out the first single, “Processor”, right now. It’s fucking unreal and I couldn’t be more excited about this project.
And a couple videos today, being a Friday and all. The first coming from Solbrud. This is the new clip for “Sjæleskrig”, taken from the audio/visual live album, Levende I Brønshøj Vandtårn. That is set for an international release on March 26th through Eisenwald.
We’ll close with the new video from White Void for “There Is No Freedom But The End”, taken from their debut album, Anti, which is out now through Nuclear Blast.
It’s been a fun couple of years for Crypt Sermon. A well-received (and terrific) debut album, an appearance at last year’s Maryland Deathfest, an absolutely stellar interpretation of Mayhem‘s “De Mysteriis dom Sathanas” as part of Decibel’s flexi series…the Philadelphia epic doomers have certainly covered some ground.
With a new album in the works and a trip to France to play at next weekend’s Hellfest, guitarist Steve Jansson and drummer Enrique Sagarnaga took some time out of their busy schedules to chat with Dan about…well, all manner of things: how they’ve grown into the doom genre, close encounters with Dave Mustaine at the Decibel Metal and Beer Fest in Philly, how that Mayhem cover came about, and more. Check out the full conversation after the jump! Continue reading →
