CANTO: Our Place of Worship is Silence, Mastodon, Erdve, and More

Alright, so there were a few more things going on today.

  • Mastodon greeted us with a new track this morning, and it (unsurprisingly) kicks ass. It’s titled “Forged by Neron”, and is featured on the DC Comics Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack. Give it a listen here, and feel free to pre-order the collection as well.
  • Blackened death duo Our Place of Worship is Silence is releasing a new full-length on August 27 through Translation Loss Records, titled Disavowed, and Left Hopeless. The title-track was also revealed today over at Decibel, and it is absolutely relentless. I’m looking forward to this one.
  • Old school death metallers Hexorcist have set July 26th as the release date for Evil Reaping Death. They’re partnering with Memento Mori for the CD release, Unholy Prophecies for the vinyl, and Goz of War for the cassette. Simply put, whatever your preferred media form is, they’ve got you covered. Check out “Exulting the Adversary”, the first new track, here.
  • Lithuanian experimental sludge collective Erdve have also announced a new album, Savigaila, set for a July 23rd release through Season of Mist. Pre-orders are up here, and check out the video for the new single “Lavondėmės” immediately below.

“Ein Bier… bitte.”
