Concert Review: Deafheaven and Drab Majesty, 7.25.2018

deafheaven.7.25.18.244

When it comes to a Deafheaven show, there a few things you can be absolutely sure of. For one, they are going to bring a dope — if not curious — collection of artists on the road with them. Secondly, their performance will exhaust all your energy, regardless of your positioning in the crowd. And finally, the passion and quality of their performance will never, ever, leave you disappointed. Such was the case at the Boston date of this most recent tour with Drab Majesty and Uniform. In fact, out of all the Deafheaven shows I’ve taken in, this one very well may have been the most impressive.

Best of 2017: Dan’s Rainbows in the Dark Edition

9C 2017 EOY Header Image

I know I’m far from the only person on our staff capable of writing an end-of-year Rainbows in the Dark post, but I guess I called “dibs” first? So here we are. Best of 2017: Cole’s List

9C 2017 EOY Header Image

Many of you know Cole from Twitter (@KVLTland) or maybe you know him from his Columbus Scene Report, but either way he’s back with his picks of 2017. In lieu of a list he decided to go the video route, and he’s wearing a killer shirt, so without further ado here’s Cole…

With 2017 being a salty, wretched year as far as social norms go, the year did however provide us with a light from heaven (or hell) in the music department. Being granted the ability to transport myself outside my city, I was able to go to shows to see some of my favorite bands in the city of Atlanta, GA. With one show in particular as an honorable mention in my video, this year has brought me closer to metal than any year of my life, which is a HUGE win. If you enjoyed my EOY List For 2017, don’t forget to hit the “Like” button and subscribe to my channel for future content. Continue reading
