CANTO: 200 Stab Wounds, Ghost Bath, Obituary, and More

I missed this yesterday because I was Oceaning and Katatoning… and it was glorious.

  • Metal Blade Records has announced a new member to their roster, in 200 Stab Wounds. This… is awesome. Check out a new track called “Masters of Morbidity” here. All this comes as they set out on their co-headlining tour with Undeath, with support from Enforced and Phobophilic.
  • Ghost Bath have announced a co-headlining tour with Harakiri For The Sky, and having seen them live before, I can speak to this being one everyone should try and make happen. Anyway, those dates are next April and May, so you have a little while to get your shit together.
  • This came through yesterday, but I wasn’t around so you’re getting it now. Death metal legends Obituary are releasing a new album on January 13 through Relapse Records titled Dying of Everything. Give “The Wrong Time” a listen here. It’s solid. Just my very unprofessional opinion.
  • And this came through two days ago. Thy Art Is Murder announced the “Decade of Hate” tour early next year with Kublai Khan, Undeath, I Am, and Justice For The Damned. That is… immense. Good stuff.
  • I’ve been really into the new stuff emerging from In The Woods… lately, so we’ll head into the weekend with their new single titled “Master of None”. As a reminder, Diversum, is out on November 25 through Soulseller Records.

CANTO: Tombs, At The Gates, Misery Index, and More

And I’m officially overwhelmed.

  • We can start the day with some Tombs, because I enjoy them quite a bit. Check out “Sombre Ruins Nothing Remains”, the RKGD audio remix of the Under Sullen Skies track. That single is the latest from the Ex-Oblivion digital EP, which will be available through Season of Mist.
  • From there, we have a pretty significant tour announcement. At The Gates will be covering a good chunk of North America this coming August, with support from Municipal Waste, Thrown Into Exile, and Enforced. They will be celebrating the anniversary of Slaughter of the Soul, so yeah… it’s kind of a big deal.
  • From there, we’ll check out new material from Astronoid. Give “Sleep Whisper” a listen here. As a reminder, Radiant Bloom drops on June 3rd through 3Dot Recordings. We’re all pretty excited for that one, if you weren’t previously aware.
  • And we’ll close out the day with some fresh new Misery Index. The video clip below is for “Complete Control”, the title-track from their upcoming new album. That one is set for May 13th release through Century Media.

CANTO: Amenra, Between The Buried And Me, Aborted, and More

Amenra

Happy Darkthrone Day! See also: Happy Amenra Day! See also: Happy Friday! (Thank Hell)

  • Speaking of Amenra, since today marked the official release of their debut with Relapse Records, De Doorn, we’ll kick things off with their new music video for “Ogentroost”. I guess that marks the first in a series of new visualizers for that album, with another one set for a week from now. That’s cool!
  • This has the potential to be massive. Between The Buried And Me have announced a new album, Colors II, which is set for an August 20th release through Sumerian Records. And if this is meant to be a sequel to Colors, something I will definitely assume right now, that is absolutely incredible. Check out a new track titled “Fix The Error” right now.
  • Fans of Matt Pike (see also: everyone) should be intrigued by his book announcement, Head On A Pike: The Illustrated Lyrics of Matt Pike. That is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 9th, with signed limited editions available at this location.
  • I guess we can toss a tour in the mix. Bewitcher and Enforced are joining Exhumed and Creeping Death on the “Worming Through America” fall tour. Those dates fall in October and November, and tickets are available now at this location.
  • We’ll close the week with Aborted, who released the first single and video from ManiaCult. That album drops on September 10th through Century Media, but you can check out the wild visualizer for “Impetus Odi” below. Viewer discretion is advised… apparently.

I had to skip Canto yesterday to set up my new, and slightly less mediocre, sound system. Priorities!
