playlist - mixtape

Good morning and welcome to another Saturday morning mixtape. We’re full to bursting with a bunch of new singles this week, including tracks from two new Gilead Media releases, Succumb, Every Time I Die, and…god this is hard to even type…an Archspire song I really, actually like. I know, it surprised me too. Check all that and more out below.

I am once again announcing that the highlight of my day was receiving a new package in the mail.

  • More fun news from Gatecreeper! Let’s keep it rollin’! The death metal collective have announced their first livestream concert, scheduled for February 19th at 9:00 PM EST. It’ll take place at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, and tickets can be acquired here.
  • Autarkh have premiered a new track and video over at the Roadburn Redux site, titled “Lost To Sight”, a track taken from Form In Motion. That album drops on March 12th via Season of Mist. Fun fact, that album will be played in its entirety during their Roadburn Redux set.
  • August Burns Red shared a reimagined version of a track taken from 2020’s Guardians, an album released through Fearless Records. Give “Extinct By Instinct (Reprise)” a listen right here.
  • There were a few hits for this video in the inbox, which is a good enough reason to share it here. Check out the clip below from Valfreya for “Warlords”. That track is taken from Promised Land, which was released back in 2017.

I think this is going to be a pretty massive year in metal, and we’re gonna need it.

Napalm Death band 2017

2/12/2018. Two day hangovers are THE WORST.

  • Iron Reagan and Gatecreeper have given us a couple new songs to kick off this week. “Warning” and “Dead Inside”, respectively. Their split LP will be out March 2nd through Relapse.
  • Doyle has announced a 2018 world tour. It’s called the As We Die World Abomination Tour. It covers a lot of territory in the US and UK between now and mid-April. I’ll pass, but that’s just me.
  • How about another new track? This one from Napalm Death. We haven’t mentioned them in awhile. “Oh So Pseudo” from Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs, out March 30th.
  • Screw it. One more. Twitching Tongues have also released a new single today. It’s called “Kill For You”. Their new album, Gaining Purpose Through Passionate Hatred, will be out March 9th. Check it out below, if you’re into that kinda thing.
