At least the snow is pretty today.

Remember when Gatecreeper released that awesome surprise EP, An Unexpected Reality, a couple weeks ago? Well, their big start to the year just got even bigger as they announced a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Does that mean we can have a full-length soon?
Darkthrone is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Soulside Journey with an incredible new boxset, which they’re calling Shadows Of Iconoclasm. That will be out on April 2nd through Peaceville Records, and can be pre-ordered here. Definitely read up on it, because there is a ton included in that package.
Harakiri for the Sky released another new one from Mӕre today. This one is called “Song to Say Goodbye”, which is a Placebo cover. Casual reminder that Mӕre is out February 19th through AOP Records and can be scooped up here.
We’re going to wrap up the day (and possibly the week, at least personally) with a new one from Årabrot. This is the first track taken from the recently announced new album, Norwegian Gothic. That drops on April 9th through Pelagic Records. “The Lie” is available for your streaming pleasure below.

I think this is going to be a pretty massive year in metal, and we’re gonna need it.

Oh look! Gatecreeper are releasing an album tomorrow! An Unexpected Reality will be released through Closed Casket Activities. You can get it here… tomorrow.
SOM, the atmospheric rock collective featuring members of Junius, Caspian, and Constants, are releasing a new EP on March 5th titled Awake. That will be available independently as a cassette, and digitally through Blood Blast Distribution. Check out “Awake // Sedate” now.
Seven Evils Spawned of Seven Heads, the latest from blackened deathgrinders Swampbeast, drops on February 12th via Translation Loss Records. Today, however, they’re streaming a new track titled “1000 Years of Pestilence” over at Invisible Oranges, so you should probably go check that out.
Blackened progressive group Vintersea released a new video for “Crack of Light”. That’s a track taken from Illuminated, which is available through M-Theory Audio. Give it a watch.

2/12/2018. Two day hangovers are THE WORST.

Iron Reagan and Gatecreeper have given us a couple new songs to kick off this week. “Warning” and “Dead Inside”, respectively. Their split LP will be out March 2nd through Relapse.
Doyle has announced a 2018 world tour. It’s called the As We Die World Abomination Tour. It covers a lot of territory in the US and UK between now and mid-April. I’ll pass, but that’s just me.
How about another new track? This one from Napalm Death. We haven’t mentioned them in awhile. “Oh So Pseudo” from Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs, out March 30th.
Screw it. One more. Twitching Tongues have also released a new single today. It’s called “Kill For You”. Their new album, Gaining Purpose Through Passionate Hatred, will be out March 9th. Check it out below, if you’re into that kinda thing.

1/9/2018. Posting these late today because I almost forgot. Oops.

Century Media turned 30. To celebrate, you can hop on over to their store and buy some sick 30th anniversary swag. If you’re into that.
Accuser have released a new lyric video for “Time For Silence” ahead of the release of The Mastery, which drops on January 26th.
Iron Reagan and Gatecreeper are releasing a split on March 2nd. Even better news? You can hear a new song from each in the preceding links.
White Wizzard have also released a new lyric video for “Infernal Overdrive”. Check it out below. The new album drops Friday, January 12th, and these guys will be hitting the road basically now. So, ya know, timing and stuff.

As I’ve probably mentioned here before, I love EP’s and demos almost as much as I love full albums. There’s something about the condensed goodness, coupled with my ever dwindling attention span, that makes me wish these little gems got their own recognition sometimes when it comes to year-end lists.
