If I’m being honest, I’m still reeling from the wrecking ball that was last week’s lineup of new releases and STILL on both Fluids and Inhuman Condition. However, the new release weeks roll on and for this one we’ve got another power metal trip from Hammer King, a death metal debut from the fiery Cyrpta, and Eremit trudges through sludge and doom like kings. But, and as always, there’s much more below to explore so hop to it and enjoy the adventure.Continue reading
Welcome to another Nine Circles Saturday morning mixtape. This week is particularly exciting, as it gives me the opportunity to hurl praises at new music from Amenra and Lantlôs (the first new Lantlôs song in seven years!). Plus, we’ve got the new Withered single, a new(ish) Grave Miasma track, and some classic Metallica to round it out. We’re keeping it real heavy this week, perfect for your weekend wake up call. This week get you down? Too much monkey business? All of the above? It’s Saturday. Finally. Put the week in your rearview and focus on our Saturday morning mixtape of things we’ve been cranking this week. So, let the rough side drag and jam with us.

So I literally rolled some dice and came up with the majestic speed and 80s influence of Hammer King and their third album of classic metal Poseidon Will Carry Us Home.
But damn, any one of the albums listed below could have taken it so read on for the heavy and the pure! Continue reading
All Hail! The Hammer King has returned! That’s right, only a year after the release of their debut, Kingdom of the Hammer King, the band offers us their second full length King Is Rising. Just like it’s predecessor, this album is chock full of hammers and kings to whet your cheesy-lyric appetite. The biggest difference this time out is the feeling running through every track, which takes this album to new heights. There is absolutely no sophomore slump here. Continue reading
