At last, we’ve finally made it. I think.

Kataklysm announced a new album today, titled Goliath. Their 15th studio album will be out on August 11 through Nuclear Blast Records. Check out the first material from that, “Bringer of Vengeance”, right here.
Thulcandra is a thing that I like, and since their new album is out today we’ll jump to the clip for “On The Wings Of Cosmic Fire” next. Hail The Abyss is out through Napalm Records.
California grindcore group Elder Devil shared a video for their latest single, “Burning Forest”. That’s taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Everything Worth Loving, which is out through Prosthetic Records on June 16.
Voivod are releasing a special 40th anniversary studio album on July 21, titled Morgöth Tales, which will be out through Century Media. Today they launched the first single and video from that, a 2023 version of “Nuage Fractal”.
Within Temptation dropped a new single and visualizer today, so I’ll close on that note before heading out for a pint. Check out “Wireless” below. That track starts the countdown to a new album that should emerge later this year.

CANTO: Cattle Decapitation, Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, and More

Cattle Decapitation have announced the “Death… At Last” tour with The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Extinction A.D., and Creeping Death. Those are U.S. dates beginning January 18th and running through February 20th. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday at this location.
And then we’ll jump over to Pelagic Records, where Som has announced the upcoming release of The Shape Of Everything. That drops on January 21st, and is available for preorder here. Check out the first track, “Animals”, right now at the previous link.
Cynic shared a preview of an upcoming new track, titled “Diamond Light Body”, through Season of Mist. That one is taken from Ascension Codes, which is out on November 26th and can be purchased here.
This came through yesterday but whatever. Dark Tranquillity are making their return to North America early next year with Kataklysm and Nailed To Obscurity. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday. They’ll be supporting Moment, a very good album… in case you needed a reminder.
We’re closing with the first single from The Halo Effect, and it’s titled “Shadowminds”. And I’m not gonna lie, I am really, really happy about it. That project recently inked a deal with Nuclear Blast, but album details haven’t quite emerged yet. We’ll keep you posted.

CANTO: Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Obsolete Theory, and More

I don’t know about anyone else, but Roadburn Redux delivered some seriously memorable sets this past weekend.

We have ourselves a tour announcement! Deicide with Kataklysm, cruising through the United States this coming August. No idea when tickets go on sale, but we will obviously share more details as they emerge. For now, let’s just be happy that we can start thinking about tours and concerts again.
Feeling the need for a little avant-garde black metal on a Monday? Check out this new track and clip from Obsolete Theory for “Onirica”. Their second full-length album, Dawnfall, is set for a May 21st release through My Kingdom Music.
Year of No Light have announced a new album, Consolamentum, as well as a discography box set. That new album will be their first through Pelagic Records, and you can check out a new track titled “Réalgar” right now. As for the box, that drops on July 2nd and you can pre-order it here.
Everyone is talking about the latest from Cannibal Corpse, Violence Unimagined, and with good reason. So let’s close with another new video from that album. This is “Necrogenic Resurrection”. Holy Hell I am tired today. Thankfully, my new Churchburn hat showed up in the mail.

Kataklysm guitarist Jean-François Dagenais recently tested positive for COVID-19 and had been experiencing some pretty severe symptoms. He dropped a message today to shed some light on his experience. Hopefully he continues to feel better.
On August 29th, this coming Saturday, Trivium are offering up “The Deepest Cuts” free live stream event. It will take place in their rehearsal room, and will be broadcast through Matt Heafy’s Twitch channel.
Belgian death metallers Carnation have shared the title-track from their upcoming new album, Where Death Lies. The record is set to be released on September 18th through Season of Mist.
NoN (formerly Now Or Never) dropped a new single and music video for “Ordinary World” through Crusader Records. If some melodic metal seems like a good way to end your Monday, have at it.

Looks like Kataklysm has a new record dropping later this year. Unconquered will be out sometime this fall through Nuclear Blast, according to this teaser that was dropped earlier today.
Lamb of God has lined up a number of live events available for streaming this week. If you missed the quarantine performance earlier today, fret not, there is a live Q&A later tonight with more announcements soon to come.
Skeletal Remains have also announced a new album, The Entombment of Chaos, will be out on September 11th. That will be available on LP and CD through Century Media Records.
And we’ll close with a new track from Acherontas titled “Kiss The Blood”. That one is taken from Psychic Death – The Shattering Of Perceptions, which drops this coming Friday through Agonia Records.
