1/10/2018. I got nothing today.

Zakk Wylde is suffering from some form of serious illness. As a result, Black Label Society has been forced to cancel a few shows. Major bummer. Here’s hoping he makes a speedy recovery.
More sad news today. Babymetal guitarist Mikio “Ko-Gami” Fujioka has passed away at 36. He died on January 5th after sustaining injuries from a fall from an observation tower about a week prior.
Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has officially checked into rehab. It has been one hell of a stretch for the dude, so here’s hoping this kickstarts a positive trend in his life. Seems like he’s doing well so far, so that’s good news.
To lighten things up just a bit, Kittie will be releasing a documentary called Origins/Evolutions in March. It’s part of their 20th anniversary or something. Kittie fans, have at it…

Suicide Silence is working on a new album. And they are turning to producer Ross Robinson for help.
Sebastian Bach is planning ‘An Evening With…” tour for 2016. Normally, I enjoy shows like this. With him, it’s probably pretentious as hell.
Master of Puppets turned 30 today. To celebrate, here some covers of those very songs. Don’t worry, we’ll be covering this in more details eventually.
This one is for Kevin! Kittie is going to be releasing a career documentary and today they released a number of key details. Like the title.
Apparently Walls of Jericho is still a thing. Here’s a new song/video for something called “Fight The Good Fight.”

A very metal Monday to you all! We’v got a very cool read to share from the folks over at Slate on Alexandra Crockett and her new book, Metal Cats, due out May 6. Crockett’s book is the product of two years spent traveling up and down the West Coast, taking pictures of metalheads with their cats. DAWWWWWWWW.

In many cases, the metalheads Crockett met with had rescued their cats from shelters. From the article:

The book speaks to the fact that a lot of people in the [metal] scene rescue animals instead of getting them from breeders,” Crockett said. “You go into a shelter, and I think [the cats] choose you; you will see in the photos that they match their owners and personalities. That’s the one that that ties them together: They have a cat that matches them.

Need another reason to check out Metal Cats? Crockett will be sharing a portion proceeds from her book with no-kill shelters in some of the cities she visited during her trek. All that’s left to be determined is whether she met the folks that graced us with this:
