This was one long fucking week.

I’m really excited about the debut from Kataan, so naturally I have to include the latest single from Processor in this roundup. This one is titled “Abyss”, and it is predictably awesome.
A couple fun covers to toss in the mix today, the first coming from Lamb of God. This is their reimagining of the Bad Brains track “I Against I”. I’m ready for this pandemic to be over, but these quarantine videos have been really well executed over the past year, this being no exception.
And the other cover of the day comes from Carnifex, who released a cover of Korn’s “Dead Bodies Everywhere”. This isn’t a quarantine video, but the visualizer for it is pretty damn wild. Check it out here.
And the video of the day comes from Light the Torch, the Howard Jones-fronted trio. They have a new album, their second full-length, set for a June 25th release through Nuclear Blast. It will be titled You Will Be the Death of Me, and you can check out the video for “Wilting in the Light” immediately below. Oh, and pre-orders are available at this location.

If you’re into wrestling (it can be fun) and also into Motörhead (which you obviously are), this release is a must. Evolution Of The Game, a collection of the Motörhead tracks crafted for Triple H’s entrance, is finally available.
Korn have released a cover of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”, which is a combination I can absolutely see working. I haven’t listened to it yet, but you can do so here. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.
Rebaelliun are preparing a new album for a release this coming fall, which we know very little about to this point. The good news is, however, that we get a sampling of what’s to come with the new track “Vile”.
Crippled Black Phoenix have announced a new album, Ellengæst, which drops on October 9th through Season of Mist. The first single off that album, “Cry of Love”, is available for streaming now.

CANTO: Faith No More, Korn, Movements, Fu Manchu, and More

I miss the woods.

Faith No More and Korn have announced a co-headlining North American tour this summer. Support will be in the form of Scars on Broadway, Spotlights, Helmet, and ’68 on select dates. That tour runs through August and September, basically.
Movements have also announced a 2020 tour. Those are U.S. dates in April and May with support from Teenage Wrist and Queen of Jeans. That tour includes a stop at Swanfest, which is something I didn’t know existed by am intrigued by in name alone. SO MANY SWANS (I hope).
Fu Manchu are celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2020 with, you guessed it, a tour. This is a massive, global, run of shows that begins in late April and continues through the middle of December. Tickets go on sale Friday.
A new music video from Vane for a song called “The Cannibal”? Don’t mind it I do. That’s the third single taken from their debut album, Black Vengeance, which dropped back in 2018.

CANTO: Migration Fest 2020, The Black Dahlia Murder, System of a Down, and More

That superb owl wasn’t superb at all.

This came through last Friday but I was too busy doing mountain things. But… holy shit everyone this Migration Fest lineup is absurd. Buried at Sea, Falls of Rauros, and Thou performing with Emma Ruth Rundle are the sets I’m most looking forward to. How about you?
The Black Dahlia Murder have announced an upcoming tour with Testament, Municipal Waste, and Meshiaak. Those dates fall in April and May. I plan on doing everything I can to get to that one.
Faith No More, System of a Down, and Korn are teaming up to play a massive stadium show at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on May 22nd. Additional support will come from Russian Circles and Helmet. That is a pretty damn wild one-off show.
And we will wrap up with a new video from Northwind Wolves. This one is for “Lord of Winter and Death”. A little symphonic metal on a Monday afternoon, I suppose. Their latest, Mountains And Darkness, is out now through Black Lion Records.

CANTO: Alcest album details, GWAR vodka, In Flames teaser, and more

Kicking things off with some news from Alcest, who we knew had been working on something in recent months. They announced today that their next album, Kodama, will be out on September 30th.
I like when bands get involved in the alcohol industry. The product isn’t always good, but I’ve always found that metal and alcohol parallel each other. The next group to take a stab at it? GWAR, who will be introducing their vodka at GWAR-B-Q 2016.
This is kind of a curious development. Korn have joined Jay-Z’s Roc Nation following their announcement that they have signed back on with Roadrunner Records for their next album. Very, very interesting.
I don’t usually pay much to new In Flames teasers anymore. But I’m not gonna lie, this one minute sample already sounds more promising than a lot of what we’ve heard recently. They are also touring the U.K. In case you didn’t gather that.
